Bonus Question...

I just cleared my PartyPoker Bonus of $129.

I'am wondering if I should now withdraw my balance and go to another site thats offering a promotion and clear there etc,

now I use neteller for my transactions so i know they take a healthy rip when you bring funds into your account. I didn't mind Party because their .50/1 was quite a bit easier than stars. I was wondering what any thoughts were on some some other sites that are reptuable and have good bonus offers...also not looking to go to paradise because i hear they have the toughest low-limit around.

Wondering what any thoughts on this "bonus hooring", is it worth it?

  • I bonus whore like mad. I have accounts at almost every poker site out there. My fav is Interpoker since they offer a monthly 100% deposit match up to $90. I clear the 450 raked hands in about 2 days and normaly cash out about $250. I come back every month. With bonus whoring and referals I'm way ahead of the game now. If I didnt bonus whore I would be a break even player or a bit better.

I use neteller and haven't been charged yet for moving money in and out. Do you mean if you use the "immediate" bank withdrawl?

..and I do what you mention. Clear a bonus, then pull the money out and go try another one.
  • The only thing I lose by transferring is the difference between the buy and sell rate for US$ (my NT account is in Can$). Although it annoys me, it's a small difference and similar to what banks do for the same transactions. The bonuses more than make up for it.
  • Have your Neteller account denominated in US$ and there are no fees whatsoever for making the Neteller <-> poker site transactions.

Okay, InterPoker (a Crypto skin) charges a $1 fee for Neteller withdrawls, which BBC Z has suggested a workaround to change the fee to $0.01 elsewhere in this forum. (IIRC, you just cashout an amount like $123.01) This is the only online poker that I know of that charges Neteller fees, but they offer healthy bonuses too.

This can be profitable, and especially so in terms of generating return at lower risk.

  • I think if you are already denominated in Canadian funds you gotta go through a whole dog and pony show to get it changed to US funds. Remember some discussion on that way back. If there is an easier way I would like to know.

As for the question of whether bonus whoring is worth it that depends on why you play. I have very little use for chasing bonuses but will take advantage of them when they pop up at the two sites I play at. I do this poker thing to play cards and whether or not a site gives me an extra 25 or 50 bucks every couple of months doesn't change my life.
It's free money so some people have built decent bankrolls doing it.
  • I checked into the US denomination change with Neteller. Basically, I was told they used to be able to just switch over your account, but now they can only do it by shutting down your NT account and reopening a new account for you. I'm guessing that it's going to be a major pain in the ass at the sites where I currently have accounts when I switch over, so I just left it for now. When I do get around to figuring it out, I'll be sure to post about it in case anyone else has this issue. The difference in rating is significant enough over time that I will eventually have to deal with it.
  • Wow. I'm glad I started off with Neteller in US funds then. I believe my thinking at the time was that I was more concered with matching the currency used by the online sites and not my own bank account.

Interesting info and I'll make sure to pass it along to new people that open up accounts.

"This is information would have been useful YESTERDAY!!!"
