Best Hotel suggestion for Seneca Niagara

I will be going to Seneca the weekend of a March 22nd and am asking what hotel is the best value for the money.

All I have found are rates of approximately $89. I plan to gamble while my wife shops.

I appreciate all feedback.

  • Read the tripadvisor reviews carefully. Many of the local hotels have bed bugs.

Hampton Inn is walking distance and has free breakfast.
  • Groupon has a great deal for Days Inn - $45/night minus $60 slots vouchers at Seneca Niagara Casino - so we are being paid to stay in the hotel! I'll probably use this to try to cross the US border alone with my kid soon.

What are the kid-friendly attractions within driving distance of Seneca on the bad side of the border? It's better to find out now if Homeland Security will prevent me from crossing the border like Kristy_Sea, Hobbes & other forumers, instead of after booking a $1,000+ trip to Las Vegas.

  • If you are planning on travelling to Niagara Falls, USA on a frequent basis, I would suggest just buying one of the many houses for sale in the neighborhood for around $10,000.

2205 La Salle Avenue, Niagara Falls NY - Trulia
  • Thanks for the info moose, I don't want the bed bugs to bite.

Hey blondefish, I tried to register an account with Groupon but was having issues. The wife will call them tomorrow to set up our account and book a few days. We may end up going the week before. As you mentioned its always great when they pay you to stay.

Does the Groupon deal include the Niagara Fashion Outlets Green Savings Card for your wife? Remember that just like westside8 and I did, you have the option to have the stoopid "promotional fee" :bs: removed by the hotel.

WTF, since when can we buy a house for as little as winning two WPT Fallsview satellites?! :o What's wrong with all these Niagara Falls houses? I'll wait for the pokerJAH trip report so I can buy one in time for next year's WPT Fallsview (with a new TD).
  • In case anybody still plays a Seneca tournament with the 30% gross withholding, what happens in a bounty tournament? Does Seneca tax the poor Canadian 30% on all the bounty chips they try to cash in?
  • While I'm there I will only play cash games. The schedule for my days there shows am and pm 80$ tournaments. I will ask about the bounty while I'm there and get back to you.

I spoke to a supervisor regarding the tax on the bounty chip. He said they do tax the 30% on it. He followed it up by saying they will usually look the other way regarding it.
