According to Playground website looks like yes. I'll see if I can find out when they start, bi etc.
How much does the cab ride usually cost from the hotel to playground?
$20 to $25
PM'ed. I think the car pooling a forumer and I did was less expensive and much more convenient than taking VIA and paying for taxi rides to/from Playground, train station, hotel, strip clubs, etc.
With the Chipgate and backlash against re-entry format by Matt Savage, Mike Matusow, Chris Moorman, etc., here is a WISH list for the future (may not happen by Spring):
- It may take awhile for the bad re-entry format to be replaced, but at least do not allow a re-entry unless you bust, i.e., do not allow being able to choose your biggest stack to carry forward with multiple Day 1s. Accumulator is a better format than next-day re-entry.
- Just like WPT Fallsview, WSOP, etc., no more re-entry format for big events, especially main events where there is a WPT/WSOP ring involved.
- No unlimited re-entry format for super satellites. Again, WPT Fallsview and WSOP's freezeout format for super satellites are better, or at least rebuy/add-on format.

Mike Matusow: "We know certain people that are very capable of doing that." (cheating)
Is party poker ever going to have the satty's available on the mobile app?
The scenario that Matusow posits isn't really to be taken seriously. It's simply not nearly as simple as he thinks it is to do what he suggests.
The full schedule is ready and approved but as you can imagine it takes a lot of effort to get everything organized in both French and English. We'll be publishing everything including complete rules/structures next week.
Of course it is this easy. Any casino That does not at least implement different chips on different day 1s of reentry events after what happened at borgata is simply lazy and does not give a shit
My older-than-compuease horse-and-buggy may be on its last legs after driving back and forth to a terribly-run casino since December, but if mikelbyl's shuttle is not available to pick up all of us in the GTA to the #1 tournament poker room, I may be forced to drive.
I was thinking to buy my seat directly from their website.
Thanks.
It should be 1 in 10 or 11 or 12 ($100+$10) as it's an $1100 entry, depending how they break prize-pool down. Not sure if it's one for every $1100 or $1000 and imagine 3% is going to staff? 1 in 30 maybe your thinking the old 3k format?
Maybe Mike can clarify.
Where does it say what the prize is? I was assuming a ticket to the 3k main event.
It is not worth 12 hours of driving plus meals and accommodation for a 1k ticket. Prob not worth it for a 3k ticket either but I digress...

The Main Event for this is only a $1100 buy in at the end of March.
The next $3300 main event buy in is end of May for the Pokerstars Series
I get a zero for reading comprehension. Thanks for the clarification.
BF shame on you for even suggesting this. 12 hours of driving and min 2 days of your life counts as rake!

Since you wanted to play the -EV cash games anyway, you may as well do it during a Mega Overlay satellite.
The Bank (not Playground) generally treats any gaming transactions as cash advances. This has nothing to do with Playground, this is entirely related to bank policies.
I can clarify!
There is no 3% withholding for the Mega Overlay but there is a $5 add-on you may purchase at the cashier when you buy your ticket.
As far as the prize pool works out, it's pretty straight forward: ((#entries x $100)/$1100)+25. The prizes are all seats in the 1.1K WPT Canadian Spring Classic.
The maximum capacity is 300 players per Day 1. We can usually surpass the maximum if there's demand but that's what we plan for in terms of dealers on shift etc.
Lowball scenario based on past experience: 600 entries adds up to 54 seats, then ADD 25 more for a total of 79 seats awarded! Any "remainder" in the prize pool is awarded to the bubble player (1 or 2 depending on how much it adds up to).
1) No Survivor Events unlike WPT Montreal.
2) I was planning to stay up to 11 days straight grinding the satellites and events starting March 23, but I noticed that the unlimited re-entry (UR) satellites on March 24 & 26 have a hard-to-beat rake of over 19% ($48.50+$11.50). Players at Fallsview complained about the $110+$15 satellite but at least the rake was less at 12% and it was a freezeout so you couldn't lose more than $125. With Playground's rake higher by 60% & having to keep repaying the full rake for every re-entry, even satellite kings may not be able to beat these games. I'll probably drive home early instead and stop by OLG Casino Thousand Islands for the live cash games with $5 max rake.
Good-Value (11.8% rake unless otherwise stated)
- Satellites: next-day re-entry on February 27 - March 1 (Overlay); $97+$13 UR on March 26 & 23 with guarantees; and possibly single-table freezeout sats.
- Freezeouts such as Deepstack $485+$65 (Event #4), Deepstack Turbo $97+$13 (#7) and the Bounty $180.95+$19.05 (#11; 9.5% rake).
Hey BlondeFish - a couple of points...
1) The unlimited Re-entry is actually only in place for the first four levels so it's not quite as scary as you make it out to be. Generally there are only a few re-entries. Many fewer than in a rebuy satellite, and you're starting with a much deeper stack.
2) I actually don't disagree that the $10 rake is high on a $50 buy-in, but what you have to understand is that $10 per entry is actually the floor we can charge and still pay staff. If the buy-in were $100 the rake would be the exact same amount and it would look like a much better value.
The problem is that we want the range of satellite buy-in amounts to a) fit well with the price of the target tournament and b) give the opportunity for players who would normally never consider a $1.1K event to give it a try. That is controlled not by the % of rake but the total price of $60. The option is not to run these lower-price satellites at all, which is a less-optimal solution.
As a more experienced player who has played many big buy-in events in his poker career, these satellites might just not be for you. For a player with your background, the $110 satellites on March 23 and March 26th are a better option, and we know they're a much better value.
As far as the survivor event is concerned, we had mixed feedback about it last time. I thought it was great as well, and I know you and a few other players did as well. But we did get some feedback from people who didn't see the point and would prefer other formats. We're constantly taking that feedback and trying to put together a full schedule that will work as well as possible for as many players as possible.
