Best place to buy poker supplies?

I am looking to upgrade my table and chip sets for the cash games I run with my friends.. I have checked out a few stores online, but most of them don't have a lot to offer.

Anyone know of any good websites to buy from that have decent shipping rates/times?

I am looking to spend 200-300 on a table, I don't need a good one. I am mainly looking for something I can fold-up and store, as I will only be using it once a week.

Only about 6 or 7 of us......every year.

Jim is extremely reliable and customer oriented. You won't find a better price on Paulsons or used casino chips.

    As legit as they come.

As for your cards question, I would echo the earlier post re:

    www.straightpokersupplies.com

I think if you are over $60.00 before taxes the shipping is FREE.

What are the typical shipping and duty charges like on the chips? Any thought of doing a group buy in the GTA?
  • Duty? Under NAFTA, gaming tokens are duty free. Ask The Chiproom to ship via USPS and avoid bullshit UPS "fees". As for shipping charges, not sure what they would be any more as I have not purchased in over a year.

As for "group buys", members who know each other on this site have, in the past, combined orders to save on shipping.

Thank you for the info on duty and usps shipping. Was just looking at the Pharaoh's Club chips and trying to figure out where to ship them in the US.

+1. USPS rocks. And dear god NEVER use UPS out of the US (or anywhere for that matter!

  • Check those Prestiges carefully. The quality control on the non-Fournier decks is not as good as the originals. What year are your WSOP set-ups and, if you do not mind, how much?
  • I looked at Straight Poker Supplies and I would be interested in the clearance Nile Club chips but they are almost out of every denomination unfortunately.
  • There are better chips than those Nile Clubs. Have seen them up close . . . fugly as hell.
  • Matti, throw out how much you're willing to spend. Milo and others on here can give you the best suggestions within your range. There's a lot of chip collectors on here who've moved up from the standard blue/red/etc.'s to the best you can find.

these are the 2011's , they have em on sale 2 sets for $24.99

they are basically bicycle branded KEM's - great cards.

  • I have a set of claysmith Bluff Canyons but I am interested in getting a cash game set with lower denominations. 40 cents a chip is really the max I am looking at spending for 500-600 chips.

Pharaoh or Milano are what I am currently looking at with the Milano being slightly cheaper and hence I may get another claysmith set. I still may try and arrange to get the chips during a visit to the states as opposed to shipping to canada.
  • curious - what are your thoughts on the bluff canyons?
  • I will say that I like them but I have very limited exposure to different chip sets. For the most part my play has been limited to the cheap set that everyone almost starts with and then the Holographic Sticker Chip type sets (besides my set). At the end of the day I am happy with them but I am not a chip connaisseur.
  • Can't quickly find a picture of Moose's chip emporium, maybe someone else can. It's incredibly impressive. The statues he's made of them are also an engineers dream.
  • I was wondering if the Monaco Millions chips are any good? Anyone have them? Not looking to spend a lot of money and was thinking those or the cash club chips.
