Las Vegas Vacation Questions
Hey, I will be going on a trip to Vegas in February. I am 19 which is under the legal age, but I am going no matter because it is a family trip. I will be bringing some friends with me that are over 21.
My question is do all the casinos ID you? Would there even be a chance of sitting down at a poker table at one of the lower end Casinos?
Just asking because my parents went there last year, and said they didn't see anyone get asked for ID.
If I don't get to gamble I wont really care that much, but it would be a bonus. I know I will be able to see the shows, and drink on the strip,etc...
Looking for some opinions from people who have been there or heard stories..
Like I said I will be going no matter what.

+1. Don't risk future visits to Sin City just because you want to play poker now.
It's not illegal to walk down the street if you're underage to gamble or drink.
The first time I went to Vegas, we stayed at the Sahara. I saw mothers walking through the casino with their baby strollers and toddlers in tow. The place was literally a cloud of smoke. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I'm pretty sure the risk would be very similar to the risk wherever you live now.
I'd never recommend any foreign visitor to another country casually commit even the most minor of misdemeanor offense. "Chances are I won't get caught" isn't exactly the most comforting line of thinking in this regard.
Hangover 4?
You will spend at least the night in the local "Hilton" and it will cost you or your parents some $$$. The police are generally out in some force on the main strip, lots of them undercover as well. If your are underage and don't look significantly over 21 I don't like your chances. If you or your friends are being somewhat rowdy it will increase the likelihood of being stopped significantly. Also depending on what happens you run the risk of future US trips.
As Comp says, the larger issue in my mind is whether or not you'd be admissible to the US in the future. They really don't like people coming from other countries and not giving a crap about their laws.
I knew a guy who spent two years in an immigration detention center down there until he was transferred to a Canadian prison (Very significant offense). He figures he got beat up roughly every other day. Obviously drinking underage wouldn't have the same results.
I can handle not being able to gamble, but a risk with drinking doesn't seem appealing.
Might have to check that out.. I wanna cap my allowance at 2000 for the whole trip..
Don't forget to post a selfie at the Bellagio fountains.....
1) Niagara Falls, Canada: drink legally & play poker at Fallsview/Niagara, including the Fallsview Poker Classic on Feb. 18-24. Can party at Sundowner, Dragonfly, etc. Put a $20 bill on your face and lie down on the Sundowner stage & see what happens! >:D
2) Montreal: play a poker tournament at Kahnawake (but avoid the unbeatable cash games unless you need to eat the "free" food). Drink & party downtown.
3) Toronto: play at Woodbine & other GTA casinos. Drink & party downtown.
Thanks, a lot cheaper too..

I remember when I used to grind the Fallsview satellites, I would search for a hotel to sleep in after a winning but very late session and wanting to get up the next day and sign up ASAP when the satellites opened up again, but sometimes all the hotels were booked up & I had to sleep in my car. :-[
If you get too drunk on the strip you run the danger of ending up on a Mexican hockey card.
Wait till you are 21 if you plan to drink and gamble in Vegas.
