Fixed Limit Holdem 10/20+
in Poker Games
Why cant I find a game in this city? 7 casinos and not one decent structured game.
First off - 6 of the 7 all offer the exact same game, 1/2nl. The only one that doesn't is Baccarat casino which only has 4/8 dc kill, which is actually holdem/omaha but is essentially an omaha game since that is the game of choice 95% of the time. Also they now close the poker room at 3am even on weekends, despite what it says on their website.
So now lets talk LIMIT HOLDEM.
Palace has a regular 3/6 game but this room is small and rarely has more than 1 table going. Nothing runs until the afternoon. Overall very weak.
River Cree has 4/8kill on Fri/Sat but usually only 1 table. Closes at 3am. This game is horrible if not lol hilarious, and sad
Century always has 3/6kill running, usually 2 or more tables plus one or two 3/6dc tables. This room is open 24hrs.
And that's it.
In fact the only decent limit game I can find in this entire province is 20/40kill at Elbow River in Calgary and although the room runs 24hrs, the game does not and its usually only one table.
Ontario has 2 highly successful exclusively limit rooms in Port Perry and Brantford where the 10/20 goes 24 and 7, 365.
Why is this market not tapped in Alberta? Dont the casinos get tired of fighting over all the same 1/2 customers?
Ultimately what I'd like to do is try to get a higher limit game going in Edmonton. Century will do it if there are the players. Are there nine other players in the area that would be up for a 10/20 at least? Maybe on Sundays to start.. Just generate some interest and maybe get something going.
Reply if you are interested or know of somewhere other than Elbow River that I may have somehow missed.
Thanks

limit games are gone.
palace used to have a reg 10/20 holdem with a kill starting list on fridays
baccarat used to have a 15/30 omaha/omaha hi/low with a kill
we like to triple barrel and shove with blanks!
