moose and seekthegrail take on Louisville
Time for another epic Chiptalk meetup. This time we head to Louisville and I am making sure to pack all my UK shirts to tilt the locals.
de-gen-a-thon {noun. dih-jen-uh-thun}
1. CT festival of gambo utilizing cards, chips, beer, and BBQ.
"six cards! six cards!"
2. activity resulting in deterioration of individual and societal physical, mental, and moral qualities.
"I can't believe nobody has stabbed you yet."
3. diminished state of coherence, balance, and navigation.
"berg's drunkenness prevented him from walking downstairs to resume play"
When: November 7 - 10, 2013.
Where: my house, Louisville, KY. 4 miles from Louisville International Airport (SDF, Standiford Field). PM me for address. Other airports: Cincinnati - 100 miles, Indianapolis - 120 miles, Lexington, KY - 80 miles.
Who: CTers and some of my home game donkeys.
Why: lol
Highlights:
* 40-player $100 tourney at 5 tables on Saturday featuring Argosy chips and plaques.
* multi-table (up to 3) cash games including low-stakes mixed games, low-stakes NLHE and Circus Game with dedicated dealers from local Horseshoe Southern Indiana.
* kegs of beer
* 3 big-screen TVs
* trip to Churchill Downs on Thursday afternoon for Fall racing
* dedicated chipgirl/beer angel
* BBQ from FABD
Not content with a weekend of degen donkey cash games, we have expanded the trip to include every casino we can find along the way.
I think I have worked out the ideal route/schedule to DCS III

Comments
Recommend Toledo PR. Beautiful quiet room, close to washroom and beverage station. Gross 6+1 rake though.
A little preDCS III warm up action at HS SI. My AA did not get cracked at 3-6 limit. WTF? I run bad.
DCS action. My sort of 6 card Royal in PLO.
Scott the dealer gets it in good on the flop and scoops.
Life is good when you are a card rack.
Love those chips.
Seekthegrail and I are at the final table. Top five pay. 33 runners.
2 of these are going to Canada
Dragon's Milk ok. Zombie Dust fawesome. Lucky to get one bottle. Once the word went around - these disappeared mighty fast.
Tourney final table
Plaque pron
This is what the pot looks like when you double through the chip leader and become the chip leader yourself.
I think this was jbredstate's bustout hand with my set of 4s. At this point the room realized it was down to Berg vs all of the Canadian contingent. USA USA chants start to break out which was pretty funny. I think chicken Rob apologized later, which was pretty Canadian of him.
Final 3 now. Here was a sick river card to keep seekthegrail alive temporarily.
seekthegrail's busto hand
As per usual, Berg comes from behind to take me out with his rivered straight. Heads up kind of sucked but we had tons of interesting hands together all day. GG.
8 Ball prize to Harley for busting first.
Final Results
You mean there is an actual store called Kentucky Korner that only sells UK stuff? Heaven on earth!
Stuff acquired from our casino tour, before and after DCS III.
Stuff picked up at DCS III. Thanks Krafticus, k9dr and courage.
My 'pot sweetener' chocolates and DCS III 2nd Place trophy.
Beer acquired at Party City. We had more but some got given away/consumed during the trip.
Highly recommend for good times, good beer, good BBQ.
Other than the tourney, played exactly one orbit of NLH. Otherwise was firmly seated in the circus games all weekend playing lazy/crazy Pineapple, kentrel stud, plo, plo8, BigO, bigO8, big easy, courcheval, courcheval8, OFC and SOHE, and probably a few others.
Derby City Showdown IV
