  • Do you work for CSIS? I think I cracked your payout code.

    Expenses
  • How much has been accumulated so far from the first four "Big Daddy" tournaments? What percentage of the total prize pool goes to the winner on November 16? If the prize pool is more than $2,000, can second place get the remainder?

Note that the WSOP-C ME starts on Tuesday, November 19 instead of a weekend (not 22-24) so that would probably affect who can make it on such short notice from work, hotel booking, etc. The buy-in is $1,675 (not $1625).

  • "Toronto Aces Poker Club" doesn`t seem to respond to posts. Has any forumer been to this club recently and able to recommend it? I'm thinking of trying out their rebuy or deep stack tourney. Do they still allow smoking in the same room as the non-smoking players? :'(

I keep getting it confused with the "Ontario Aces Poker League", which has a rake-free satellite.
  • Definitely not the same.

Only $10 from each buyin goes to the satellite so they need 168 total buyins over 9 events to cover the ticket. That's about 19 players per event.

Looks like anything over and above that gets added to the rake - er, club expenses fund.

I have not been to a event but they run on meetup if you are a member there they might respond
  • Has any forumer recently played in the new Poker Place or Toronto Aces Poker Club? Mohawk didn't get enough players to run today's $90+$10 MTT so I'm getting the itch to play any MTT. Which underground club runs the best tournaments with reasonable rake, i.e., including any "optional" fees that does not go to the players' prize pool?

  • I have played at Toronto aces. I am a non smoker and when I asked the organizer there if he can ask players not to smoke there, he didn't gave shit about my request and said to players why don't they smoke by the toilet. First of all it is a small place and what difference does it make if you smoke at the table or go in a corner, It's still the same thing.
They also take money from the prize pool.

They do not reply even on meet up. I am a member of Toronto aces and I have never seen them posting anything except their games. It looks like they don't care about their members.

Wow, what uncaring selfish bastards. I for one am just glad you are an independent observer and not affiliated with a different poker club.
