All results soon to count on Hendon...good or bad thing?

Recently received an e-mail prompting my tweet:

@thehendonmob soon to include minor (weekly, dailies, etc) results in the DB. Part of me loves this, the other half disagrees, thoughts?

As for myself, I kinda liked that there was a minimum standard to "earning a flag" (festivals & major series only), but I do like that it will let more players get recognized & tracked.

  • I like the idea but still up to the poker room to report results as far as I understand.
  • Yes. Which will almost likely never happen consistently, unleashing a rash of endless whining
  • Yeah I just got my email with this info in it. My first reaction is "wow". My second reaction is "whoa" because it could be a lot of work.

The real challenge is not to get the results out, but to manage the opt-out for players.
  • I've never been asked about opting out, the problem is that most of the casinos I cashed in don't get the results out. A lot of my tournament cashes before I stopped playing live in 2009 are missing, including a couple of 5-digit binks. HendonMob even has my picture wrong! :-[

After I started playing live again in May, not a single one of my cashes at Casino Rama ($6K), Brantford, Georgian Downs and Western Fair has been reported. Meh.

  • Personally I think it might be a good thing, could really encourage people to play more so they can boast about their results, since poker is also an ego thing to some people?

I never put much thought into poker results, more than 95% of the time they misrepresent players anyways.
