  • Pretty awesome. Want to go so bad, probably lots and lots of value in the main.
  • WSOP.com updated to reflect the venue change.

Hammond just got their schedule, so my guess is it'll be available a little over 1 month out?
  • How are they so slow at updating lol.
  • Are any of the laclemy events going to be PLO, I actually have a business meeting in ottawa during that time SWEET!

I do hope something will change
  • As stated in OP, unlike WSOP River Rock, all of the WSOP-C Gatineau events are simple NLHE with no variants. I like Rebuy, Bounty and especially Survivor tournaments, so I will have to wait for WPT Montreal to play different formats.

  • I see the schedule is out and most events barring the main are capped at 350.

Any idea if seats can be pre-purchased?

Where are you see the schedule?
  • I've started to look at the various live satellites for WSOP-C Lac-Leamy, and you have to be a satellite king to beat such high rake!

    10-player Satellites
    $65 (43+22): 1st wins $365 seat & 2nd wins $65; rake seems to be 33.8%!
    $95 (67.5+27.5): 1st wins $580 seat & 2nd wins $95; rake is 28.9%!
    $165 (129+36): 1st wins $1,125 seat & 2nd wins $165; rake is 21.8%.
    $220 (189.5+30.5): 1st wins $1,675 seat & 2nd wins $220; rake is 13.9%.

If anybody is interested in putting that high rake up to $360/satellite in the players' prize pool instead, see Rake-free satellites to WSOP/WPT.
  • Just reserved a room at Ramada Gatineau for Friday Nov 15 to Sunday Nov 17 at $139 all-in.
  • Below is some info on the live super satellites.

    $85 (60.83+24.17): 1 in 6 wins $365 seat; 28.4% rake.
    $125 (96.67+28.33): 1 in 6 wins $580 seat; 22.6% rake.
    $220 (187.50+32.50): 1 in 6 wins $1,125 seat; 14.7% rake.
    $300 (279.17+20.83): 1 in 6 wins $1,675 seat; 6.9% rake.

    What's the schedule for supers?

I wondering what their reasoning for having the main on Tuesday and Wednesday?
I'm trying to find out the reason for the very strange scheduling of the final weekend having three consecutive $365 events instead of the Main Event. ??? Of all the WSOP Circuit stops I've looked at, Quebec is the only one that doesn't have the ME starting on a weekend! :o It's as weird as Woodbine scheduling its SNGs such that they only run in a one-hour window (11 AM - noon) out of 24 hours!

    The well-hidden link is http://casinosduquebec.com/cms/dms/casinos/lacleamy/promotions/wsopc/en/wsopc-calendrier-cll_27aout2013-en_13sept2013_super_sat.pdf
I was thinking of going on P.A. Day on November 22, but the only events left are the three $365 events with 18% rake. The super satellites' buy-in for the"Player's Choice - $365" that weekend is $85, and I'm trying to find out how high the rake is.

I have verified that the total rake is up to $8 for 1/2 and up to $11 for 2/5+, :( so I'll have to skip the cash games in Quebec. Believe it or not, the poker room closes at 4 AM on weekdays, so degenerates won't be able to pay the high rake even during the WSOP-C.
  • After talking with Casino Lac-Leamy, I got a follow-up phone call but the person still did not really know the reason why the Main Event is scheduled such that many players like me are much less likely to play it. The bad news is that I was told the weird ME schedule is set in stone and will not be changed.

Day 1A or the first run starts on Tuesday 12 PM, but the second run or 1B starts at 9 PM on the SAME DAY! ??? The final re-entry or 1C starts the next day at 12 PM. So the WSOP Circuit pros and other players that want three shots at the WSOP ME ring will have to play three deep stack tournaments within 24 hours and no sleep?!

I was told that there would be no Day 3 or 4 to play out who would be the Main Event champion like the other WSOP-C stops I've seen, but only a Day 2?!

Like most other casinos outside Ontario, Casino Lac-Leamy fails to properly disclose the extra 3% fee for staff gratuities. For the $85 super satellites (60.83+24.17), the rake is very hard to beat at 28.4%; I updated my previous post.

Bottom line: While playing at WSOP-C Lac-Leamy is better than buying into any US tournament, hopefully Quebec's government-run casinos will learn from River Rock, Playground and player feedback on what improvements to make for next time.

Appears there is a day 3 for main after all but midweek starting days and dual flights on Tuesday still happening ...really wanted to give this one a shot but looking at schedule for WPT at playground and results from FTP make it seem much more appealing... not to mention I can't wait to get back there since last years WPT event.
Since I still haven't checked out lac-leamy I may try to stay at a buddies in ottawa for the final weekend to play a few $365's then head to playground for the week of the 28th for some warm-up events before the WPT main ...anyone finding good deals for hotels in Montreal for this week please share.
  • I got Ramada for 100 first 3 nights then they lowered it to 90 for last two nights, apparently its some business deal they offer. I tried to stay at Hilton but the prices are insane they wanted 175 and when I called to try and see if I could talk my way into a better rate they patched me over to VIP room at casino, were after 35 mins of me crying he said he would take off 25$ a night. I decided on ramada it has good reviews and for under 500 for the week compared to 900. It looks close on google maps but Hilton is right at casino.
  • Where do you see that Lac-Leamy has scheduled a Day 3 for the Main Event?

I don't see anything listed other than the day 1s, but it does list it as a 4-day event in the gray column on the far left.

That's how I'm reading it as well ...4 day event beginning Tuesday, then becomes a 3 day event beginning Wednesday.
  • Blondefish, most of the events are two days. Given a noon starting time I would assume they would play down to a final table which would continue the next day. In Cincinnati we played 10 hours (5 pm to 3 am) for day 1, with day 2 starting at 3 pm the next day. That was a $365 event, not the main event. Also note that the 2 last tournaments are on line and available only to Quebec residents. That is the same with RR. If anyone knows if tournament vouchers can be prepurchased that would be good. In Cincinnati the tournament was opened 3 hours before the scheduled start time and buy ins could happen until the end of 4th level providing their was still seats available, which there was as the events I played had 138 and 203 players. I like Ohio so I will head to Cleveland for the 2014 event as well. Also of note the cash game during the tournament were incredibly profitable. I just shook my head at the play there.
  • Does anyone have any idea on the expected field size for this series I know its a guess ,I am just curious what kind of numbers to expect.
  • Did anybody ever figure out how many days this event is?
  • Here's what I was told by Casino Du Lac-Leamy just now:

    1. There is a Day 2 on Thursday, no day 3.

    2. You can register by phone any day between 10am and 10pm with Credit Card for any event, including satellites, by calling 1-855-772-6262 x4047.

    That's all I know.

:o When is the next rake-free satellite for a WSOP-C ME that is NOT on an early Friday night?

Thanks for checking. Are you planning on going? I'm planning very tentatively for Nov 17-22.
  • Very tentative for me as well. I've booked off the week of the 18th as Vacay, but it depends on what happens with my wife's job between now and then.

If I go, planning on hitting the $300 satellite on Monday.
  • For anyone interested, Ill be driving up on Friday the 15th early afternoon from the GTA if youre interested in a lift.

I'll be returning either Sunday or Monday (depends on the Sunday event) so you may have to figure out a flight/train/bus home if youre not on my schedule.
