little poker mostly baseball

In Niagara for 10 yr old grandsons OBA championship. Also played 1/2 at Niagara last night. Boy has it ever gone downhill. No cashier on same floor as poker room, long wait, no dealers. Fiasco.

Baseball going very well for a rebuilding year. Most of our players 8/11 are under age. We beat Burlington 7-1 and 1-0 to make it here which was a huge deal. Last night we beat Brantford 11-1. And this morning we beat a huge Oshawa team 12-11. Grandson pitched the last out of both games. Playing Blood ale this afternoon at a beautiful mini stadium.

    Lol, damn auto correction. Bloordale.

    Lost this afternoons game 6-3.
Backs against the wall now, playing London at 5, loser goes home, winner plays at 9 tomorrow. Only 6 teams left of the 12 that started. We never expected to be here so it's all gravy from here.
  • Just to finish this off. Game 4 of our OBA journey was a wipeout. Got smoked by London 17-2.. Just had nothing left in our 3rd game of the day.. London team were BIG boys, they must have averaged 3" and 30 pounds on our guys...
All in all a very successful year on the whole when we look back on it. It was supposed to be a rebuilding year with few wins and lots of learning experiences. We got the learning experiences but way more wins than expected.. Think we were about a 60% win rate...

As for my poker experience at Niagara (first time in several months).
Place has really gone downhill. About 40 people on the list when I got there at 7:30 Friday evening. I had called in ahead so was about 23rd on the list. They had 4 tables running but no more dealers. At 8 they did get 2 more tables opened and I got on about 20 min later. Some people likely waited 2 hours or more. Guy at the desk told me the casino really doesn't care as the poker room makes so little per square foot of poker.. Even though I pretty well knew this I can't believe he actually told me.. No cage on poker room floor at all, you have to go upstairs to main cage for all chips or rebuys.. No runners either.. Stupid, stupid, stupid..
