    Casino Rama, Ontario

Marc Bilodeau, Table Games Shift Manager at Casino Rama announced a series of six monthly poker tournaments. Each tournament is $100 + $20, two levels limit hold’em and the remaining levels no-limit hold’em. The top five finishers of each tournament win a paid seat directly into Casino Rama’s season ending tournament – this is in addition to their cash prize. The season ending tournament – The Casino Rama Fall Classic – will be open to the public at a cost of $250 + $40.

The tournament dates are all Mondays (May 17, Jun 14, Jul 19, Aug 16, Sept 20, and Oct 18th). Sign ups are in person, in the poker room. The Casino Rama Fall Classic is slated for November 15th, 2004.
  • Mondays? :(
  • Monday must be their slowest days...The casino's in s/Ontario suck when it comes to holding poker tournaments!
I went on Rama's website and there is no mention of a poker tourney. They can't even be bothered to update their own site.
Having said that I will still be there. :|
  • I haven't been there in quite a while -- have they increased the size of the poker room? I can't image that they have more than about 10 tables in there ... that doesn't make it much of a tournament (by today's standards). :)

Anyone from the kitchener/waterloo area want to make a go of it one of the mondays?
  • I happened to be there a couple months ago and there were still 8 tables as usual.

  • So do you know how many tables will be in the tournament? Is it capped at 80 people? I seem to recall that the old ones were fairly early in the night (i.e. I would have to leave work early to get there by the start time).
  • KWplayer, PM me. I would like to go to some of them, we could carpool with some other KW players. Have you signed up yet? I wonder how fast the tourny will be filled...

    stp
  • I'm not sure... I've never actually been to a tournament there, and I don't know anything about the upcoming tournaments.

I was there in September last year and February this year. Both times they had ten tables going. Also, the tables there seat 11 players so unless something has changed they can seat 110 players at once.
  • OOPS, I was 100% confused, and I was thinking of Port Perry instead of Rama. I've never been to Rama, so I have no first-hand knowledge of how many tables they have.

  • Will their be rebuys and addons? I hope not!

    Yes.
The 1st tourney is already full. :(
  • Do you know what the field is limited too?
And are the rebuys unlimited and addons only after the 1st hour?
  • Did anyone go to yesterday's tourney? How was it? I've played at their 2-5 tables, but was really interested to see they started having tournaments.
  • I went to Rama today, and was talking to a couple of people that played, they told me first place was $10,000 (because of tonnes of rebuys). Lots of bad beats tho, I heard some guy called all-in with K6 against AA. I'll post a bit more later, kinda tired
  • 10,000 are u sure.. thats a large cash sum for 100+20 buy in .. does anyone know is there a limit to the amount of players than can be in each tournament?
  • limit is 110 players and unlimited rebuys in the first 1 1/2 hours, thats why the prize pool gave 1st place 10,000 (40%).

They have 10 tables with 11 ppl
