Calgary (Canada) Cell Phone Help

I have an HTC Rezound on Verizon from the USA.

I have called Wind, Bell, Telus and apparently this phone cannot be used on any of their networks even if unlocked.

Is this true?

Is there any Canadian network where I can use my phone or am I going to have to purchase a phone again?

Also, any word as to when Verizon is expected to enter Canada?

Yes and no.

Essentially from what I read, it will roam on CDMA networks but Bell/Telus/etc are not adding new phones to their CDMA networks.

I don't need a super phone (don't need anything better than my current phone) and it doesn't seem like the technology has advanced much in 2 years anyhow.
