Does Brantford have a poker room?

Any does anyone here regularily go?

I haver to admit 90% of my playing is online with some home games. I've been to casino niagara years ago..

Anyway was thinking of making a trip and wondered if someone could give a newb some pointers?

Where the room is? stakes? get chips at the cashier Or at the table? etc... you know stuff that would help me not look like a total fish :)

  • Have not been in a while, but....

    They spread 2/5-20/40 FLHE
It's a separate (and quiet) room which is a huge improvement
They have their own cage for chips. No chip runners.
  • It's at the back of the casino, by the main cages.

Don't forget to sign up for Players Card and get free stuff.
  • Even a total fish will be better than 80% of the players at Brantford. In case you missed Hobbes acronym - it's limit holdem only at Brantford.

Wait times are long. Phone ahead.

But I think a forum trip should be in order. Maybe a Thurs/fri/or sat sometime soon.

Yup (even a fish like me). I've bought in for $100 and cashed out 2 full racks on occasion.

Remember the guy (in the pink shirt) that dropped something like $1200 playing 2/5 (or maybe 5/10). :D
  • I'd be down for that. I'm not worried about things once i sit down and play. It's everything leading up to getting to my spot at the table :)
  • It's pretty straight forward. You could use your fishieness to an advantage.

Just keep saying "I'm all in" :D

And yes as moose said call ahead. You have 90 minutes from when you call before they take your name off this list.

No, no. Keep asking "How much can I bet?". Everytime. You will have the table tilted in no time.
  • Much better idea moose.

Yes, I go to Brantford to play the good-value tournaments.

It's great to LOOK like a total fish if you're not really a fish. I haven't been in many of the poker rooms in years, so I would first ask the security guard where the poker room is. I then go to the poker desk, let them know that it's my first time within earshot of the other players, make sure my name is on the list, then ask all my questions.

At the poker table, I ask any questions and there are at least a couple of friendly players or dealer who will give you all the info you want. When I first played in an electronic location, I asked, "Where do I put it in??" :-[ I then kept asking, "Umm, what do I do next?" I cashed out with a profit.

Since my old Winners Circle cards keep getting cancelled by OLG, I applied yet again and got $5 & $10 Match Play coupons at Brantford (I heard more at OLG Slots). I bet them on the least -EV table game, which I think is the "Don't Pass" line on craps. I not only walked away with $30 in free money, but cashed in the tournament to get back into the Brantford's Winners Hall of Fame. :cool2:
