  • I've read Killer Poker: Online by John Vorhaus

It's not bad, I found it amusing that he spends so much time discouraging online play in a book about online play.

My favorite quote was something to the effect of:

"Playing poker online is like masturbation and playing in B&M is like sex"

Anyway, I like that he has a lot of spots where he asks you to write examples from your own play which if nothing else forces you to think about your play.

Also, he talks a lot (I mean a lot) about the pitfalls of online play. All of these things I had experienced and was aware of but it was nice to read that others have come across it as well.

I used my Points on UB to get it free. Would I have paid for it? Probably, it's far less expensive than most books on the market and it's a decent read.
  • I own the Vorhaus book, and it alright. I bought it and dont think I would have again (if I hadnt if that makes any sense).

not a whole lot of strategt more about managing bankroll, choosing a game, a site, a few online tells.

Daniel N with one comment improved my online play a lot more on rgp when someone asked him how would you approach online play...to which he responded something line: I would play more normal....by normal I mean less bluffs as the sites are full of fish that will call down anything.

    SImple, yet powerful advice
  • Bobby Baldwins Winning Poker Secrets by Mike Caro is an entertaining read just regarding the life of Bobby Baldwin, not so much for good poker content. If you are buying it simply for some tales of his life, then you will enoy it, but, if you are expecting some great poker advice you may wish to look elsewhere.
