vacation recommendations

Hi everyone. My friend and I are looking for a recommendation for a vacation destination for January which includes beach (warm weather), casino and fishing. Wineries would be nice too, but a bonus. Any ideas? Thx

  • Hi Comp, thanks for the quick reply. I love the Atlantis and PCA action. Great idea but am hoping for a new destination. Do you know if Cuba has casinos?

btw, if anyone going to the PCA likes Black Bean Soup, Anthony's Restaurant in the strip mall across from the Atlantis has a delicious one and decent prices too.
  • Miami/Key West or Tampa.
  • Costa Rica really can't be beat imo

Not yet, used be lots of mob ruled ones there before Castro.. Could be again if US embargo eases...
  • No casinos in Cuba, but you will not find better value for your dollar. Unfortunately, it is primarily a sit-on-the-beach situation. Certian resort will have ocean fishing available, or reef snorkeling, but that is about it.
  • thanks guys, wish Cuba had a casino :) May go there anyway.
  • It's a great place to just decompress and forget about everything back home. If you do go, be sure to check out Pilar Beach.
  • Turks meets your wish list, excluding the wine. Likely better weather than Florida and Bahamas in January. Poker all year round as well.

San Diego mght be a good option as well. Probably has everything you are looking for. Weather would be better since southern tip of California.
  • Guessing this is out of your budget/time range but that is summertime in Australia and they definitely have beaches and casinos and wineries.
  • We booked at Marival Residences & World Spa - All-inclusive Resort Reviews, Deals - Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico - TripAdvisor
No poker probably but supposedly a small casino in the area to relax, drink and play black jack and hopefully some fishing. On the plus side, our room will have a private infinity pool overlooking the ocean though. Australia sounds like a great plan for summertime. Thanks BrennerM
  • Hope you make it back alive . . .

remember, ID in your shoe, just to be on the safe side.

It's not tropical down here this time of year -- low 60s at best. SD is a great city to visit though.
