Trying to bring game to the next level

Based on suggestions from members in this forum I have purchased and am currently reading Miller's Small Stakes Holdem. I have pretty much worn out my copy of Jones' LLHE which has been my guide to playing the online low limit tables. According to SSH my preflop play has been pretty solid and I have spent a lot of time getting that right. According to Miller post flop is where you seperate the "men from the boys" and allthough I do pretty well calculating odds and outs in familiar situations I find it really hard to do some of the advanced calculations as lined out in SSH. I have a lot to learn on postflop play. I had never considered calculating the partial outs and when pressed to make a decision have a hard time doing that much math in my head.

I figure with time many of the situations repeat themselves and you just know what your outs are but what is the best way to get proficient with these calculations? Just sitting at a table with a deck of cards and practicing comes to mind, but what about checking my results. Are there any good online tools for calculating outs and more importantly partial outs?

SSH has been an eye opener so far. I like to consider myself a tight aggressive player (and preflop I think I am) but reading SSH I think I can qualify my post flop play as tight passive. I need to fix this. I think I'm folding too many hands where I am wrongly calculating my outs, not taking into account the partial outs that may be present with backdoor flushes and straights for example. When the pots are huge it's easy to make decision's but I feel when things are not so straight forward I am making wrong decisions.

All I know is that this book will take many reads to master. As always advice is welcome.
