Vegas Hotel Advice
I usually stay somewhere nice when in Vegas, but I am considering an open-ended grinding trip. I don't want to stay anywhere too nice, just somewhere to sleep and I may even prefer to be off of the strip since I will have my truck and don't want to get stuck in the monotony of the strip by myself if I choose to stay more than a week. I would prefer eating off of the strip as well so I can eat a bit healthier -- I can only stand the strip for 4-5 consecutive nights and this trip could go on for a month if it gets started.
I want to stay somewhere basic but not disgusting -- I think somewhere like the Station Casinos or the Orleans would suffice, although it has been 10 years or so since I have stayed or gone to any of those places. Basically, I will book a week and then decide what I am doing from there on if I head out on this trip.
The only amenity I am looking for other than the room not being disgusting or loud is a half decent gym with free weights. An indoor or open in the winter outdoor heated pool would be great as well, but probably isn't realistic. Free parking and internet would be great -- most off strip casinos tend to have free parking I believe.
I don't want to be downtown, but other than that I'm pretty open to suggestions. Looking to spend less than $40 a night for an old-school degen poker trip and I have seen lots of options as low as $25 a night, but I can't really tell how the gym is from most of the sites.
Any Advice?

nevermind -- just discovered that my gym here has an affiliate in Vegas
would still like off strip hotel advice -- Rio is only $40 a night, but I probably want to be a bit further from the strip...would like to try and grind some disciplined hours daily and not be a total degen, I've never had the opportunity for an open-ended cash game grind before in Vegas

The Caesar's properties unfortunately will charge you for gym, although multi-day passes aren't too bad.
text Nikki?
prices have gone up quite a bit there since the renos...I'm happy having a bed for $30 a night a few miles from the strip for this potential trip
no Nikki updates yet...for realz scared of getting killed if I mess with her
This Nikki, did you meet her in a hotel lobby, masturbating with a magazine? That darling could grind.
somewhat
looks like the unnamed hotel on the hidden hotwire is likely the trop for $40 a night
yeah, but I don't think I am committed to more than a week IF this even happens at all...I think it would be a fun adventure and if not now, when? If not me, who? If not Vegas, where? and cetera...
most weekly rentals that are nice are more than I want to spend for this initially half-assed adventure...if things are going well AND I don't have a job offer that I have to start in the near future I'll put down $1200 or so for a month at a furnished condo...honestly, I haven't played very much poker in the past 2 months and am skeptical about how I will do if I'm not in the right frame of mind...I don't think I've ever had a losing Vegas trip playing cash games, but who knows what lies around the corner
I also would need the flexibility to leave at any time for a job interview, or an actual job, etc
It is walkable but not sure if there are sidewalks all the way... I know the one time I walked it, circa 2009?, there was lots of construction...
well i'll have a car there either way
