Just quit what was supposed to be a great job
So, I took a year looking for a good job somewhere warm...and I quit tonight after only 7 months of employment. Despite making the most money at any job I have had it was a terrible place to work -- everything was about money and nothing about patient care...it was 100% corporate despite being only 2 clinics. Impersonal, cold, terrible. Constantly understaffed, a few terrible vets, etc. I just couldn't do it anymore. After being a vet for 13 years I can't work somewhere that is not enjoyable or satisfying.
Buhbye 200k income...hello no job as of last night...hoping to find something decent pretty soon as the cost of living here is pretty high. I think I'm going to try and find something in a smaller area and closer to the ocean...I think I need to scale down my expenses and find somewhere I really love living...looking at a job offer in Santa Barbara which is right on the beach for much less money but is supposed to be a great place to live -- anyone ever been?

In an unrelated story -- I have been single for a while now. I met a super hot girl (Asian, not Irish:()last night and we quickly went back to her place...super fucking sexy implants and all (California:))...so after being at her place on the couch (which we may have moved just slightly) she tells me she has something to tell me and delays several times in telling me...soo, of course I'm thinking she used to be a dude and am debating in my head if she is hot enough to play with anyhow (see super sexy above...not wife or gf sexy/pornstar sexy) vs she is a pro and now wants to tell me.
Soooooo...she then tells me that her house is under constant surveillance because her ex is in the Mafia and is in jail right now and asks me if I saw the van outside when I came in...less debating in my heads (big and small) and I say goodbye and GTF out of there...guess I should have guessed given that she was super hot, had implants, drove a Mercedes and lived in a pretty nice house and definitely wasn't working at Google.

She then texts me several times on my drive home telling me to come back and that I can do whatever I want to her...couldn't do it, must be getting old.

About the girl, you should run like hell.
Commerce is around 8 hours from my house...I usually don't play poker other than for fun (low limit) it I'm not in the right mindset, which I am not right now, so I will likely stick to 1/3 or 2/5 whilst I am unemployed.
