WSOP food voucher discussion
Hey, all. If anyone ever played cash game during WSOP time at RIO, some (or most) of you know what I am talking about.
Due to high demand of cash game during the series, Rio figured that they cannot properly track # of hours each players put in at tables. So in order to distribute some comps, each floor managers are daily (or semi-daily) awarded X # of $10 food vouchers that can be used at most of RIO restaurants including WSOP food court. Vouchers can be combined thus you can collect them and use it at more expensive restaurants if you want.
I first found out about it 3 years ago and asked floor managers for voucher in a proper way (imo). At the end of session, I got up and approach the floor manager and said something like "I played at table #39 for 4 hours, can I get that food voucher?" Roughly 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 times, I was told that they are out of vouchers at that time. For time I was given the voucher, I always sensed that they are not happy and I actually thought they were quite rude when providing vouchers. (as if they r donating food to poor, etc)
I saw some people were tipping a bit, so I tried $1 tip, maybe they were little more polite than before but still I didn't feel like I am getting proper treatment. Oh well, I had to live with it as $10 worth of food while grinding is pretty important imo.
Another thing about this system is that it's supposed to be 'Secret', only few people per table know about it and Rio doesn't want rest of people (mostly casual players) find out about it and be forced to issue more vouchers.
Well, last year, I started asking about this injustice more to fellow players at cash tables and found out some players are using this system to their advantage.
They get friendly with floor managers and would tip $5, $10, $20 to get bulk of vouchers. ($5 for two vouchers all the way to $20 for ALL vouchers that particular manager was holding <- not sure how many, could be 20, could be 30) This creates more situation that floor managers run out of vouchers when asked by player like me.
When discussing this sort of injustice system w fellow players, some hate it like me, some say I just have to flow with the system.
I really hope Rio would come up with automated comp system for WSOP time still though, why should cash game floor managers be awarded this injustice power for their extra pocket? why should players who know the system be warded extra food vouchers in expense of those players who don't know the system?
What's your opinion?

We're talking about comps here, they dont have to give them out.
I guess I used a bit harsh word.
I can live with 'improper usage of power/promo/perks', etc
Venetian and Aria have much better comps and better food.
But with that being said, its never a bad thing if you can score those vouchers from staff.
