My 1st casino poker nite- Windsor Casino Poker palace

well I finally had a chance to check out the new poker room
I got there around 12:30 an there was a giant 3-6 list about a page an only about 10 ppl on the $100 max nl so I got on the list so I head downstairs an win about $80 playin roulette so I only gotta drop in another $20 so play my session. This was my 1st real time playing with players in real life an I feel i played good until the very end. My session lasted about 2½ hrs, about the 3rd hand in I look down at pocket aces an over bet the pot an only one the blinds, the biggest pot I took down for about $50-$70 I had pocket 9's in mp so I raise it $15 I get 2 called flop comes 9-Q-Q, so it checks around turn was I think K so im prayin for action none, so I check again river was a blank so I bet out no callers boooooooo, I was up an down after that but my 2nd last hand im on the button so there is 2 callers in front of me I got QJ spades so I raise it $20 i get 2 calls flop comes A-4-8 clubs so this is where i kinda made a mistake i checked an wanted to check raise in a stone cold bluff so calls so it checks around the turn was a blank so I bet $20 again get 2 calls, river was a blank so I should have went in for about $130 but I only bet about $75 so the blind is thinkin thinkin think
bang he calls then I get another call the blind won the pot is 2 pair Aces an 4's an this i couldn't believe me called me, then my last hand I only had about $30 left so the table was breaking up so pretty much everyone called checked the flop an the turn then someone get out I had a Q high straight draw so I go all in an the guy who bet out had it A high, even tho I lost only about $100 I had alot of fun an found parts of my game that I need to work on. I love how ppl put u on a hand then they call cuz they think ur bluffin then u flip over ur boat lol its great anywayz just wanted to let u know how it went. Im glad I only had to wait about an hr.

  • yikes was that all one sentence?
  • First time at the casino is always the best experience. Also I think for $100 MAX, its 1/2 NL correct. I think you may want to look at you hand value as I think you are over valuing some of your hands.
  • 1/2 $100 max. That's a crappy. All No-Limit games should have a 100BB max buy-in at least!

As already mentioned you should maybe look at your hand requirements. Nothing wrong with raising but sometimes you need to hit the brakes when you realize no one is going to fold.
  • thanks for the advice, I think i was pretty tired lastnite an some of my cards looked better then they actually were. The table i was playin at was pretty tight so I expanded my hands that I would play. The funniest thing of thenite was this guy calls with huge raise at the turn with like a 6 high no draws,no straights, nothinitwas funny
  • I find in casinos you need to play tighter at the NL tables. I am usually one of the loosest players you will play against (calling on suited connectors). On the NL tables I will call bb with high suited connectors or any pair. Once there is a raise to like $20 or so, I better have a pair of 10's or better or AK. Be willing to toss your KK if the flop comes with an Ace. I played in Buffalo where the blinds were 1/2 but the standard raise preflop was to $15 or more. I also played in Vancouver where the blinds were 3/6 and standard raise preflop was $25-50. In both cases, I did see some players play with crap hands, but not like on the 2/4 , 3/6, 4/8 tables. Crap hands like 8 10 unsuited for $50 preflop. One guy called my $200 preflop reraise with KJ, I had KK and I won. I also won a $150 raise after the flop, I flopped a set of 10's (pair in my hand) and board was 10, 4,2. He called wih AK (was he hoping to pair up or runner runner a straight?). I also lost on QQ calling a guys all in for $225 preflop, he had AK. In hindsight I should have just called his $20 bet instead of pushing him to $50 preflop.

    Just my 2 cents worth
