Chris Tessaro on Ontario Entering the Online Poker Scene (Toronto Sun Article)

While this was written a few years ago and appeared in the Toronto Sun, by a PFC member no less, it’s a great read and still very current in many regards.
Chris Tessaro has an impeccable handle on what is happening on our poker landscape and since we are still waiting to see what moves Ontario makes in regards to online poker; thought members might appreciate:

He's on this forum? I've listened to his poker show on FAN590 a few times - not a bad show but I don't like the fact that he doesn't address the "controversial issue". (aka when the FV TD was on during the Fallsview Poker Classic and he didn't ask about the scalping issue)

That's not controversial...that's normal for this kind of event.

I've read alot of Chris' stuff a few years ago, and he always seemed level headed and knowledgeable. Lately though, I've seen nothing from him, especially in The Sun. Sure he's still around, but don't know who he's writing for these days.

He is the forum (profile shows since 2009); mostly what he discusses and reads is Fallsview. I'd have to defend his lack of discussing controversial Fallsview topics with the the words "politics" and don't "shit where you sleep." Jumping an unsuspecting TD on this issue would be a bit unethical as well; he's (the guest) is not the guy calling the marketing shots and if he answers wrong his boss might be more than steamed.

Ontario is a tough place to do business and you never want to rock the boat, especially with suits who keep a close eye on things sitting in it.

Radio and print are tough from a legal standpoint too, few wrong words can lead to all sorts of lashback.

From a personal example, you all know I'll call out some CPT mishaps in a heartbeat, but when asked on Quadjacks about their dealings in Vegas, had to be carefull and avoid as I was representing an introduced as working for a particular company.

He's no chicken shit and will call a spade a spade, but has to be right time, right place.

He still writes for Sun and does events, expect more of this in future.
