Brief Florida Poker Room Trip Report
Just got back from a week in southern Florida (just north of Miami) and visited three local casinos. Here is a quick snapshot of each poker room:
Hardrock Casino - mainly 1/2 and 2/5 cash games (list for 5/10 but never happened). Very busy room, even during the day time with about 15 - 20 tables running. Separate area from the main casino and smoke-free. Best high hand, every 30 minutes in the evening paid $600!
Isle Casino - very nice casino and poker room! best of the three I visited. 1/2 - 5/10 running throughout the day. Lots of action players. Free valet parking.
Gulfstream Casino - wasn't impressed by this poker room/casino. Pretty run down and old casino. Also poker room is in main casino area so lots of smoke. Did have bigger games running than Hard Rock in the evening (5/10 +). Not many tables running and mainly regulars. The 5/10 table seemed to be the same players every night. Valet parking $6.
Funniest momment, guy that was a real jerk hit the HH with QQQQ at Hard Rock at 10:15 thinking he would get the $600 at 10:30. At 10pm the HH was paid out every hour instead of 30 minutes. Come 10:30 he flips out because he has to wait another 30 minutes. He calls over the floor manager and makes a big stink. At 10:58 he still has the high hand. He is so nervous that he goes out to have a smoke. The very next hand, the guy to his immediate left flops quad KKKK and goes all in (as there is only 58 seconds left before the HH is over). When the guy comes back from his smoke he flips out and starts blaming the player and the dealer of cheating and setting him up to lose the HH. Funniest part is he would have won the HH if he didn't go for the smoke!

That jackpot must keep the fish in the game all night. Sounds like a great pond.
Nice report! How'd you end up? (or down)
