Casino Regina Poker TR (outside tourney series)

So, quick TR as I have never really played here outside a tourney series and they just stopped spreading 3/6 FL to go 1/2 NL in past few years.

Thursday night room was packed and we decided to skip wait list. 6 to 8 table room. Went back tonight to play at 6pm, 2 full tables of NL and a 10/20 FL DC

I was going to grab the DC seat but Bren wanted it, min buy $100, sat her with $200 but most were buying for $400. I decided to jump in 1/2 and wasn't long before they started another table. Min was $60 max $400 bought for $125 with 8 other players buying for about $150 each. Older table with one young fool trying to bluff every pot and confused about rules. Loose pre-flop in general but not agressive, mostly limpers and rarely raised beyond 10-12. In 2 hours never seen it three bet pre. Nitty in that sense and most gave up in flop, checking or folding.

Pretty uneventful, loose kid kept jamming chips into me on one hand (he had about $200 at time, I had kq called his ten pre-flop 2,2,k. Ace on river so u checked behind, he mucked quick. A few of the old guys called him down with bottom pair and j high won a few pots between the old timers. Bad tells, guys going straight back in chair. Example; I call sb with 10/3 as 5 limp. Flop 456, I bet $6 couple calls & folds around to button who goes str8 back in chair and makes $18. I fold, as does my right who seems to be only awake player on table. Buddy scrapes pot and shows us flopped nuts with flush redraw whining about no action.

Didn't really have many other interesting hands; one hand with 2 overs and gutter, turned double gutter and fd but missed, dumped some back but he let me draw cheap.

Few hands later call kid with j7 and button, he made it his standard ten. Flopped fd and gutter, he c bet (but stringed) to 40, was commited to the first couple reds he dropped and two players called hesitantly, so stayed in. Turned flush (only A or Q suited beat me), he led for $20 after both checked, I shoved as he only had $100 behind. Didn't think he could fold. He eventually did, but almost called me drawing to ten high flush.

I was up about a bill, Bren needed reload so I just left table as was tired anyway. If anything was interested in DC game, but my brother in law was table captain and was wait listed, too many relatives to get in there lol. (he is local, we were not visiting him, but he plays 15/30 for living and knows our games, so packed it in. Recommended she move there, prob softest game either of us had seen in long time, but sure if someone wanted to wait for it to get deep, would be worth it. Last old guy to sit was also veteran player, seen him lots around and he was stuck from DC game and trying to grind back up; changed flow a bit but not enough to keep me interested.

They were starting a 2/5 at that point.

Was a bit disappointed they had no tourneys except Tuesday's and Wednesday's, used to be some crazy rebuys and $100 freeze often.

Only other annoying thing there is they sell chips out of dealer rack and takes forever for players to get going, instead of bieng seated with bi from cage. Then cashing out, you have to go halfway down the casino to general cage. Ass backwards IMO.

That's all I got for now.

SOFT! I've played maybe 1/10 losing sessions there, but tougher over series.

Like that they like Hi/Low. That was the one losing session, up tons the night before 5/10 FL but played like ass next day to give back.

The 10/20 FL DC looked mega good, I'm thinking t8urmoney might have played "the teacher" (screen name) on Stars some in PLO. He takes $1,500 out of that room a week in the 15/30 FL and 10/20 DC, playing 3 nights a week on average and has for years.

Most of the players play like they never left their home game, ever.

If I hadn't dropped $800 and lost a day on way up after alternator went, having to rent car, drive 300k and back following morning with part, might have been a bit more "enthusiastic."

Icing on cake was rooms charges $100 more with fees, Ramada charges $10 a night for parking and a bunch of other shit, nothing even close to $112 a night worth in room, be aware all hotels near casino also close to Cornwall center, so paid parking. Icing on cake was $1.50 per person charge per person to order breakfast off menu during "brunch".

Then $172 ticket trying to make tracks home lol.

Had a blast, but no profits from the little gamble time needless to say...
