advice from phil ivey

i was watching the poker superstars invitational and phil ivey had some really simple advice that made a lot of sense...

basically he just said that when youre winning during a session that you should keep playing until the game breaks or you are tired - this is because you play better when you're winning. no matter how good a player you are, your emotions are bound to affect some plays - so always make sure youre in a good state of mind.

i find that i often walk away when i'm up, sometimes rationalizing that my run is bound to end... and then someitmes when i take a couple bad beats, i convince myself to stay longer as i know i can beat the game i'm in

i think if i can reserse this trend, i'll still play the same amount of time, but be playing better while i am....

You and me both, the whole I'm gona get it back attitude. I think it's good advice, it's funny because when you think about it, should be quite obvious but sometimes it's hard to make yourself do what you know is correct.
