Because, I want documented proof that I am the unluckiest poker player alive.
  • I know its poking my nose where it doesn't belong, but if you keep posting in the BVB thread you will get coolered more and more, if you post in the strat section you will start to cooler other players.

    coolered!!!

This is not a cooler. He was never ahead, didnt need to commit his chips, he had 4 outs. A cooler is AA vs KK, two pair vs a OESFD.

Flopping trips against 4 outs, is a bad beat.

Are you suggesting there was a better way to play this hand?

No, I feel I played it perfectly to get this guy to commit all his chips, way behind. He did. And out drew me. That is a bad beat.
  • no, its a cooler lol

    hahahahaha
  • Have you guys been taking lessons from Hobbes ?

Think in metagame for a moment,

You are trying to be better than your villains, but they don't make money (thats clear). To be successful you have to beat the profitable players. Which means this is a cooler because a profitable player will get dealt this spot too, and play it the same way.

You have to play other spots better than profitable players would in your shoes.

    So imo its a cooler.

What profitable player is flatting a 4-bet with KJs ? Then, on the flop, what hands am I checking, that I would 4-bet with pre-flop ? Only one comes to mind (JJ, for those playing at home) and a good player should be putting me on a range, not a specific hand.

So, I do not agree with your assessment that a profitable player makes this play.
  • who really cares if its a bad beat or a cooler

it happens to literally everyone on a daily basis, so idk why you seek sympathy

just suck it up and move on imo
  • When we have 15+ outs or so with the Turn and River to go how many times can it be expected to hit?

Past two weeks or so I've gotten myself in these situations and just keep bricking so hard *la sigh*,

Last night was the worst when I started the hand having the guy completely crushed with AT vs KT.

your misunderstand me....what i said is a profitable player will do the same thing YOU did in YOUR spot....so why should you make more than a profitable player?

Everyone gets it in good vs fish, that won't win you poker money, it'll just break you even.

If he takes the view that this is a cooler, his roi% will go up...if he takes the view its a BB, his roi% will slide as the game naturally gets harder.

Also TV will agree this is a cooler but TV's view on poker is wrong.Any multi tabling reg with 20k+games will agree this is a cooler in the sense that it should not steal more than a 1 second of our thoughts.

Think I get what you're saying, but not sure: basically his ROI % would go up if he sees this as a cooler because he won't tilt and therefore will play better after this and in the long run?

Idk, I personally could play this hand, view it as a bad beat but immediately be like "im oi, standard, let's move on".

No I'm not saying that and this has always been strange to me that others don't immediately see this, but I teach it through Jiu Jitsu.

He is concentrating on the parts of this game he cannot change, im not worried about tilt, I'm worried about non growth.

These hands he posts happen to me and you in the exact same way the exact same number of times. People don't realize that but if you'ved played 10k number of games you go through it constantly.

The interrelated opposite would be thinking you should make money in poker because you 5bet jammed pocket Aces and won a giant pot vs. KK. You didn't win anything in this hand, its just auto.

We only win money by playing hands better than break even and profitable players if they are in our shoes in the same spots. We don't win money by getting it in vs fish, everyone does that there is no edge thus profit in it.

You don't want to think about you vs villain in a certain hand....its you vs. the poker field...and you have to make better decisions than the field.

Edit: and yes the not tilting thing is a bonus to understanding how this game works.

Edit2: hence why tony guerrara can claim he is untiltable.
  • Well said, I get it!
  • next time i get coolered, im making a thread, and I want EVERYONE TO CONSOLE ME!!!
