Yes, put schedule into a table yesterday and just noticed no blind time increments announced for Main yet?

What has been confirmed is that EspaceJeux players can play sats for live events, but no official announcement for the online events. Sounds like they will be allowed, but still nothing official.

    I wrote up an article yesterday to shoot across the 3 Poker Pro e-zines. One thing I think is good about this particular situation is we will be the lab rats for the USA;
Since they are leaning to intra state networks, they will be able to gauge player reaction to co-branding with a world trademark in a secluded market.

On the flip side, if Ontario regulates, taxes and licenses existing platforms as is speculated and seems real they will due to ALGC actions, they can way out those options. Of course most players are hoping for option B.
  • Started thread and added available WSOPC Vancouver Event 11 & 12 Playnow.com online info here:
    http://www.pokerforum.ca/f8/wsopc-online-events-playnow-com-28946/
  • Word is that there will be a 400 player max per day, per event, plus alternates. Don't know how long the alternates will be able to join in yet. Pre-registration may start as soon as Sept 1st. Will advise when I get the offical word.
Also assked how long/ many blinds each day will run.
If there are more questions get them to me quick so I can get answers before anything is published
    poker-411.org
  • Look forward to added details. I am almost out of time for Poker Pro September issues, but I think all the PlayNow info will be out in time to edit.

Will revisit WPT and WSOPC for October with Stardust results

    In before T8urmoney ships
  • Im very skeptical about the possible turnout for this event. Im not sure how many people are willing to travel for a single $1650 event just because its backed by the WSOP. I wish they had been more ambitious.
  • But it's not just a single event
  • Go to poker-411.org Major Events, WSOP is the 3rd one down. There are 10 live events at River Rock. Basic details are there.
    poker-411.org
  • River Rock has posted more details, including the dates for the on-line tourny's.
go to www.poker-411.org Major events, WSOP Tournament
    Ma
  • stop promoting your bullshit site on ours

we get our info on here just fine, we don't need to be re directed to yours.
  • Mapoker, you seem like a cool person, great work on your site. I just want you to know I'm a bit territorial...and competitive. WSOPC, including information on online sats is a day away from going up on Poker Pro Ezines for Canada, Europe and USA (with WPT and Stardust)

Only thing basically expected is that you also contribute to other threads, get to know some of us, network etc. hit and run links are so low end.

It was prepared weeks ago, were just waiting to publish complete issue.

Pokerforum.ca Alexa Traffic Rank: 562,165 Traffic Rank in CA: 27,936 sites linking in 90

Pokerprocanada.com Alexa Traffic Rank: 543,120 Traffic Rank in US: 83,878.

Pokerpromagazine.com Alexa Traffic Rank: 415,844 Traffic Rank in US: 76,316

It's also been up here for a few weeks:
    http://www.pokerforum.ca/f8/wsopc-online-events-playnow-com-28946/

And yes I know I redirect, but I asked the owner here, the prior one and simply can't copy paste info sold to someone else. In return for being given the info first by Insider, I network and get them in mag...see how there's a bit of give and take not just take going on here....
  • My apologies to you Costanza, please tell me what you find offensive about my website.
I have worked very hard to make it simple and still contain all the info a tournament player needs. Before 2006 the casino's had an advertising budget and we could find out about tournaments on TV. That all changed and suddenly nobody knew where or when the tourny's were. My husband and I travelled about 200 miles to one and 39 players signed up for what was supposed to be a 3 day event. On the way home the website idea was hatched. I went to our local college took a course in web design, got help in the lay out, and set out to visit every casino that had a poker room in the Pacific Northwest.
I pride myself on accuate information, and try my best to keep it up to date.
Those who use my site tell me they love it, because of it's simplicity, and ease of finding the info they are looking for. All the casino's are in one place, don't have to hunt and peck for one to another.
In 3 weeks we are leaving for Alberta, and hope to visit all the casino's there that have a poker room, take pictures and add them all to the site.
It's a lot of work, but so far a lot of fun, and I like to think I provide a service to tournament players they can't find elsewhere. I have no interest in online poker, everything I have on my site is live, bum in chair tournaments.
Not being a player I don't always participate in conversation because I haven't had your experiences. However I do read a lot of entries.
Thanks Jon, I'm not here to compete just want to let folks know I'm out here, trying to do a good job
    Ma
  • I don't find your website offensive at all Ma

I find the fact that you link your site in every single post highly offensive

Trying to direct traffic to your site in every single post is just wrong

I think it's great that you contribute here , but directing traffic to your site thru this one is in bad taste.

apologies if my demeanour came across bad, Im not quite sure why I was so mad yesterday.
  • Understood
  • FYI. The WSOPc schedule has more updates coming.
  • Yeah well the scheule has been taken off River Rocks website and a notice to stay tuned put in it's place. Will try and find out what happened yesterday........ :-(
  • Yes. It's because it's changing. I will never know reasons why either (i have ideas only) but the buyins will most likely be a bit bigger. I'll have all this info next week.

My ideas as to why are a whole nother topic but might I lead to the proceeding WCPC series at Edgewater that has a 5k? Do you really want follow that act with a $300?
  • Never understood why Edgewater consistantly wants to butt heads with River Rock.
It's like they want to play King of the Castle.....and the players just want to play cards.
FYI there were 100 players in the BCPC High Roller last year buy in 5K.
    Winner took $116,442.00
The buy in for WSOP events is smaller but more players will participate
400 players at 300 =$120,000, Winner could collect about 55K
Depends how much jingle is in your jeans. Both casino's will have tourny's for everybody's budget.
Just more pretige at a WSOP event
  • It's not really butting heads if you break it down, they avoided as much overlap as possible but are taking advantage of any spill over. The ameriacan HS players will have no problem setting up shop in Van to grind online and play the juicy soft live fields that all this hype will create. From a business side, this was a brilliant move.

Alberta right now for example and on the other hand is the complete example what not to do. They scheduled COPC over the last long weekend in summer (never that good for poker IMO, we usually cancel home games, bar leagues etc) and they overlap with Edmonton almost day for day. Edmonton is self sustainable as their casino group has the monopoly on events in Edmonton (almost), so most players are going to avoid the unwanted overhead of travel and hotel. Calgary would have normally reaped the rewards of those players making the 2.5 hour drive if not for this conflict.

The out of toweners are stuck in limbo. Do you hit the attractive buy-in sizes of COPC and pray the fields are there, or do you head to Edmonton which might be down a bit in their numbers due to the glory days of COPC? That's exactly the dilemma here right now.
  • Had a couple of questions today, player wanted to know where the events were going to be held-
all events will be played in the River Rock theater.
second question -will there be a charge for people to watch
answer is no, anyone can watch from the balcony area.
  • Morning all, some news from the wet coast, first rain we've had in 3 months.
    WSOP statis:
Events 1 and 2 are sold out, events 3 and 4 are 40 % sold out, events 5,6 and 8 are 60% sold out, event 9 is 70% and event 10 is 30% sold out.
Event 7 (main event) is 25% sold out for eac day not counting satallites, as of 10AM, 13 Oct 12.
Just returned from Wild Rose country, should have all the casino info posted to the web site no later than Tuesday.
We dropped off brochures and contact info at all the poker rooms, in case there was interest in running satalittes for WSOP main event. So, if Alberta players want a shot
at this, visit your home poker room and ask if they are going to hold an event.
I was surprised at how many casino's didn't know about it, but all seemed enthused.
  • How did this miss that? Considering every poker room I have recently visited and talked to have this sitting on their shelf:

    http://playerspokercanada.com/media/newsletter/2012-fall/index.html

Cover kind off gives a hard to overlook heads up.

While it's exciting to have a WSOPc event in Canada, the WCPC has a great structure and better rake but I doubt they would run sats for that. Alberta has its own $1000-$2000 Main Events roughly monthly, so thinking they will direct their efforts to those.

Aside from the 10k championship in Vegas, not going to see to many casinos here helping to send money somewhere else.

Expect maybe 40 players from here to attend, they don't need a sat to decide and most likely will save their cash for bigger fields an BI of BCPC.
  • Don't be a hater Jonboy ;) There will be something to be said for the WSOP rings...I would think they will draw some people on their own....

Because they are listing events as sold out, doesn't mean there won't be seats avail. Prereg's count in those numbers, and lots of people prereg for events they may not make...I know I reg'd for 2, 6 and 7 but if something happens with this kidlet, I may not make it and I am sure many others have done the same.
  • Haters gonna hate....

    quit editing. lol

While there are a few parts that maybe don't make this the best series available, it is certainly a great thing for West Coast poker, and Canada..having a WSOP event here only opens the door for bigger and better. When it's a full house, next years event can only get bigger and better right?

I agree with all of the above.
  • It's true Jon there were brochures out there....guess the poker room staff just don't look at them much. I put them in their hands.....what does that tell you?
  • Just got home from WSOP, work tomorrow. :-(
It was good to hear the first 5 events were sold out before this weekend.
Ran into folks from Tennesse, California, Lethbridge, Montreal and Toronto a couple of fellas from the USA that go to all these events where ever they are. Must be nice to have that knid of money !
They seated 410 to start, alternates only for about an hour for event 1.
BC Lions cheerleaders put a lot of smiles on the faces of the guys, Roberto was
also there shaking hands and smiling for photos.
Good time, ran smoothly and on time.
I'm sure it will be a great success.
An atta boy/girl to the organizers, well done.
