The Real Scoop On Online Poker....

Well, I've had this question for a very long time, and it seems there are a lot of you here that know a lot more about the game of poker than I do, so I thought I would throw this question out there....

Is it reasonable to assume, that when you are "winning" player, you should be able to on average do the following per hour on average....

.50/$1 -> $3.33 (10 person table)
1/$2 -> $6.66 (10 Person Table)
2/$4 -> $13.32 (10 Person Table)
3/$6 -> $19.98 (10 Person Table)
5/$10 -> $33.33 (10 Person Table)
10/$20 -> $66.66 (10 Person Table)
15/$30 ->$99.99 (10 Person Table)
20/$40 -> $133.33 (10 Person Table)
30/$60 -> $199.80 (10 Person Table)
100/$200 ->$666.00 (10 Person Table)

Now, there was a method behind my madness. I heard a couple of posts saying that you should be able to "easily" manage $20 an hour if you are playing winning poker at the 3/6 level. So I adjusted it that if you made $20 playing in a 6 dollar big blind game you'd only make $3.33 (just happens to be the figure im averaging in .50/$1) so was wondering if these numbers are to inflated or prehaps way under estimated.

Just curious what I can someday dream of inspiring to.

  • thats 3.33 BB/hr, which is ALOT more difficult to sustain when you get to higher levels such as 30/60 and especially 100/200
  • Is there an implicit assumption of multitabling in those numbers?

    Speaking of results in a per hour basis is inconsistent.. BB/100 is nice and normalized..

    Uh, that could have been my response to a post. That was in the context of multi-tabling. Online results should be better than B&M since you can multi-table and you get a lot more hands per hour.

    Results are going to vary by levels. Going down in levels, you can do better. Going up, you'd likely not do as well.

    Results also vary by site. Pacific you can do well at all levels but it is as slow as molasses and only single table. Pokerstars is faster and multi-table but players are tougher as you move up in levels. Can't say much about other sites but I understand Party is pretty easy to do well at.
