Bad Beat Jackpot bad beat

Read this story from someone I play with once or twice a month.

Won the Bad Beat Then Lost It

the bad beat was $210,000 two weeks ago at the Boulevard ...an employee of mine was playing there and was dealt 3-5 hearts...flop comes 4-6-7 hearts for a straight flush....one other guy in the pot with a flopped set of of sixes...turn comes a six for quad sixes....and a bad beat...$100,000 going to the quad sixes and $52,000 to my friend.....wait a minute...here comes the river....8 hearts which puts only one hole card in play for my friend and not the required two.....oops...

I honestly don't know what i'd do if that happened to me.

  • I think your buddy got ripped off by a shady/ignorant floor manager. His 3-4-5-6-7 SF still beat the quads.
  • True, but his "best" hand is the the 8 high SF, Johnnie. It is a technicality, but it is an important one. If you table your cards and have both a straight and a flush to my set, you do not declare the straight, as it is not your best five cards. Same thing in the OP's case. It sucks, but the casino is not in the business of being overly generous to patrons.
  • If you declare your hand and are a retard about it, not naming what you actually have, you can be ruled as its what you declare, not cards talk....more depends upon the casino floor rules....I would run right to the board and read up rather than just take it as what the floor decides at that point, if your wrong so be it....I have str flush 7 high!!
  • you need to use both cards to win most BBJ that i know of i dont see how the floor has anything to do with it.

But they do NOT make the best 5 card hand. Cards speak is pretty much inviolable even at Fallsview, no?

each player has to use there best 5 card hand I dealt at a casino that the bad beat was aces full of tens beaten by quads and the board would come like TTTKA and one guy would have AA and the other T9 and there was never a BB jackpot awarded and it happened a lot
