Cash Games in Edmonton

I figured I would just make a thread instead of PM'ing people. Just looking for an overall view of what the games are like. I know YH and Argyll seem to be the big places to go. Are places like Baccarat, Century and Palace even worth going to? Is it worth the trip to go to River Cree? Also what about during the week compared to the weekends? Do any of these daily tournaments bring a lot of people who stick around to play cash game?

Thanks in advance.

Just 1/2 NL really will be a while until I can build a roll for anything higher
  • You won't find much higher NLH on any kind of regular basis but the 1/2 is 500 max so with good table selection you can have a really good win rate for the limit. Personally, I would just play at YH, the games are even better when you realize the regs never change up their games and are super exploitable.

Yea thats what I was hoping was not the case because YH is the farthest from me. But I will have to make the trip if the games are the best. Thanks for the info GTA.
  • Argyll probably has good games as well it's just not a nice room

ok thanks I will probably take a day and go check out all the casinos before I start grinding
  • Agree with GTA......games at Yellowhead and Argyl will be much the same, just that Yellowhead is a much nicer room.

Also try Rivercree, as the action is pretty good there as well.
  • how soft are the games in YH and argyll? loose, weak, passive, tight, tag, lag, etc?
  • Extremely soft...I made $55/h over 2 years of play at YH...if you can't beat those games then, well, you suck...it's pretty rare to find an overly lag 1/2 table, that's why it's your job to play lag and crush the games. Pretty much any 1/2 to 2/5 game in any location (Vegas, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, etc, etc, etc) is crushable if you are even just a decent player....Edmonton moreso than most areas for 1/2...there's a thread here somewhere as to why Edmonton games are the most beatable 1/2 games anywhere in the world.

    Here she is:

Again, if you lose, you suck...gl.
