gg Junior Seau

Gunshot to the chest.
Possible CTE.

If Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, it is similar to the way former Chicago Bears great Dave Duerson ended his life. Duerson shot himself in the chest on February 17 -- the method used so that his brain could be examined for symptoms of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a trauma-induced disease common to NFL players and others who have received repeated blows to the head.

  • Holy fack that's shocking!!!!
  • Common in NFL players, Boxers, soon to be UFC fighters IMO and the most infamous case being Chris Benoit the WWE wrestler.

  • Awesome player. RIP.

Now, why do I feel we will have a global warming-esque debate about to begin regarding these CTE's. Significant studies showing it's real and anecdotal evidence piling up (Rick Rypien, Derek Boogaard, and Wade Belak for those who have already forgotten) yet no movement by the NHL on fighting (fists inflict blows to the head) and minimalist attempts to reduce an ever growing problem of head injuries. The NFL is showing it's serious about taking action against these injuries, what on earth is the NHL thinking by ignoring it for the most part?

    Sorry for the threadjack.
  • Enjoyed watching Seau play.
    Shame to go that young.
  • I'm in total shock right now. Definitely did not expect this one.
  • For those of you who enjoy the NFL, enjoy it while you can . . .
