This is getting old to me...poker dress code??
EPT8 Monaco: Dressing for the occasion - PokerStarsBlog.com
Getting kinda tired of hearing people bitch about what players are wearing while the industry suits continue to to throw out excuses.
A suit or being well dressed does not make someone smart or professional.
A Professional is somebody "engaged or qualified in a profession"
It isnt players in sandals and shorts throwing pokers image in outhouse, I'll say that.

I like guys that dress mega casually it shows that you dont have to be dressed to the 9's to be a professional in anything
look at that hair.
god damn.
The Casinos should have a dress code and enforce it.
Sounds like they are cutting some slack by the blog.
Sexton ranted about it recently, others before him. Player puts up his money to play, if he makes a tv table and doesn't run out to buy a suit since he has been hopping planes and grinding for a month straight, or quite frankly doesn't give a shit, just collect your vig and STFU is my point. Or supply a wardrobe and someone to fit it.
"I understand wanting to be comfortable while you’re playing, etc. Is it too much, however, to expect players to wear collared shirts, long pants, and shoes and socks on a televised final table?"
I don't to look at feet when I am watching poker on tv. And I couldn't tell you what color each players shirt was, let alone if it had a collar.
It's too bad that player flaked and cost WPT money. I wonder what they had planned on paying him for the appearance?
Lederer, Pollack and Duke dressed for success, those damn flip flops are the true reason poker has such a degen image.
For the record, I would dress up for a Tv table, but because I wanted too. I just think that they are a bit pompous with this. Hellmuths massive UB jersey didn't exactly scream class to me but how many years did that go on?
Was it bad for pokers image?
Why do we keep bringing up Monaco lol, I get it. James Bond plays There
I would dress up for the record, btw, because I might feel more uncomfortable being underdressed. If I play in your kitchen though, going to need a bit a notice if sweats don't work; I plan to stay awhile as tourneys take time.
But did you eat and pay for the tuna sandwich after you busted? ;p
I find if you are going to be at the table for 5hrs+ why are you going to wear clothing that is going to be uncomfortable in.
Now if it is a casino rule to dress a certain way then I will follow status quo, but in no way do I judge someone on the way they dress at a casino but the way they blow money.
I know guys who dress like bums who will dump 25dimes (25k) at a blackjack table like it was pocket change who dress like they just came from a soccer game outside.
If it's the tourney itself saying it, I also say suck it up. It's their tourney, their rules. If you don't like it, make your own or play in a different one.
Buy a good one.
No... scratch that. Buy a fabulous one.
Every guy should own a really good suit.
If you are not comfortable in a suit ... you need a suit that fits you.
Find a really good mens store.
Who are they going to give a multi-year multi-million contract to if two guys have equal talent.
Guy in sweats, or guy who looks good on TV.
I agree that is bullshit but isnt that how life goes the known can do what they want while the unknown must follow some sort of convention.
I always use to dress in sweats when playing live poker especially when I was in my early 20s cause of the image it showed before all the internet pros starting making it big I may now dress up more since the whole internet look now looks stronger then a young business man trying to throw away money. Obv this doest apply in the high stakes where 95% of the players are known anyway.
WE DON'T NEED NO FRICKEN BREAKS!!
YES!!!!
:arghh:
jeesh, these young uns... That's the best you can find to do in bed?
Where did we go wrong?
