Comments

  • call it

some reasons....jj you can prob overcall 25 bbs without even thinking about it
utg limper can still have kjo,
you still have a decent stack if you lose (prob doesn't matter if you didn't still call)

more reason but most of all......

why did you 3bet pre? edit: to call utg's jam?
  • I agree, your losing to a limped AA, KK, QQ. I call

I thought 3 betting JJ to any limp at all is std?? I dont really wanna set mine limp from LP.... so limping along really isnt an option imo ... utg could have misclick limped/ be a moron / etc...

I was def calling BB shove.... utg calling the shove is what is confusing me, his range is always QQ+ AQ+ , right?

maybe im a nit, or horribad, I dont know

I guess what im asking is, BB's range is decently wide, and im probably ahead at worst flipping.... but what it UTG's flatting/calling range? its always monsters, right? :-\

    lmao! ya getter in
  • well despite what u guys thought, I DID get it in :D

    AK > QQ > JJ

This was just a weird spot for me because I thought it was a fold and it felt like a fold, but I was just wondering what u guys thought.

tbh I'm not sure how this helps me at all in the future lol, I'm gonna get in spots like this in the future and I'll scream "I'M NOT A NIT!!!!!" and mash the shit out of my click button to get it in, get pwnt, and then just shrug and think to myself "well at least I'm not a fucking nit"

    Sigh...
  • lol In micros a lot of idiots with limp call shoves like this with KJss or 77+. Just happened to not be the case here. Make the right moves and in the longrun.....you will start to hit your 2 outers :D

It's 2012 man, time to bonk
  • hero did not 3 bet he iso'd. this is a fold for almost 30xbb (unadjusted) vs an utg limper who COLD CALLED a bet and a raise.
  • <20BB eff with JJ I'm not folding ever really. But yea meistro's right he iso'd didn't 3-bet
  • IMHO- the situation was all-in or fold - with 25bb back & a hand you know you losing and facing a 2 outer is a good laydown. UTG is likely beating the bb and you will move up in the $$ and have 25bb left over to find a better spot. Cash or rebuy-different story

I don't agree this is a nit laydown but even if it is-I think you need to make moves like this to be successful in MTT's. As much as I love to hate the infamous nit PH you can't argue with his MTT results.

you think you are 'cool' because you come in with like quips here and there not saying anything ever meaningful
Thanks for the meaningful comment Darbday, but unfortunately I have no idea what that means. I am not a regular poster here and do not know all the inside jokes. Its exactly this type of crap, the same crap you complained about, that is the reason why I have ~70 posts in 5 years. (and/because of this my better half is not a fan)

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was not a negative/bullying statement towards myself. I agree with many of the statements you made in regards to this forum being more friendly. I am merely pointing out that by quoting posts and giving no meaningful answer except an inside joke a new/low poster is not likely to not understand can come off in the exact way you claim to take issue with.

Apologies to mods & OP if not OK to respond to this here..please move if needed
  • one of the posters in this threads name is 'betrthanphil (hellmuth), hope that explains it...if not pm

    thx from commenting

thx for the benefit...glad your back :)
  • Thanks for the PM Darbady, again very much appreciated.

After re-reading my post just want to clarify that I am open to constructive criticism, and would not consider that a negative or bullying behaviour.

    Sorry for the derail...carry on
  • I don't think either play is a bad one here. Personally, I'd fold because I hate JJ in this spot AND I'm a nit :), but getting it in here is reasonable.

BB could make this play with 77 and up + AK/AQ and maybe even suited AJ/AT (people do some crazy things in these small MTTs).

I find the UTG limp-shove move narrows his range to small pp 22 thru 66 OR AA/KK. Depending on how much you've seen of his play, u can decide what's more likely.

So I asume that BB had AK and UTG had QQ, or am I just another really bad nit?
