"Uwintakeit" Running like BTP, maybe better?

A local friend has been on a tear, hoping my thread title caught some attention lol.

He has won the Big $162 twice since last November and chopped the Sunday 500 last week, but what's crazier is that he has been sitting with Galfond lately and holding his own in $50/$100. Isldur sat once, but player knows he has to move to $100/$200 to take him on, he was playing up to $200/400 on FTP in past.

He has also won two live medium limit tourneys already this year.

If anyone is bored and likes PLO, check him out. He is flat out nuts as his loves the game. This guy can run $3000 to $300,000 and has several times before.

He is also willing to lose it all at times, which makes this fun for everyone else.

Can he turn it into 7 figures this time?

I doubt Steve would want to risk $300,000 in a cash game. Not a competition at all.

Poker is about making money, not measuring yourself against other players.

    This ^^^

He is also making sure he pays himself along the way this time around.

In all reality, no competition to BTP, but I am still in awe of this run

Hey Jon, my comments weren't directed at you. I think its awesome that your friend is tearing it up and I know you didn't mean anything by mentioning BTP in your post. just that he is lighting it up, too.
  • just PTR'd him and holy crap, he's crushing PLO, how old is he/how long's he been playing if you don't mind me asking?

For sure sir, you 100% nailed it though, same words out of his mouth. The one thing he is doing differently is paying himself because of what you both pointed out. (tone hard to type lol). MTT wise, BTP still ten times total too.

About 30 and prob 5 years plus. I've watched him at $25/$50 live for at least 3 years. He kills $3/$6 and $5/$10, how he manages to consistently get back up to these games. He wants a million and that's pretty much what you can expect him to try to do here.

In his opinion, PLO is not as much of a gamblers game as some say and there are solid consistent strategies, and of course skill in adapting.

Once he quiets down, he may help write an article and interview but doesn't want more action than he can handle. He's sitting the same guys online, which of course is good, though he says it is getting tougher to get a game while he is crushing. A lot of HS want to bum hunt.

You allowed to say who he is John? Does he ever travel to the Edmonton series?
  • I will be allowed, I'll just keep from posting it yet. He doesn't want LA crowd knowing, Canada he doesn't mind. Yes he players Edmonton, PM you now.
  • Swap you for Inheritence identy lol

Anyway, figured the PLO fanatics might enjoy one of the unknowns taking a shot and trying to be disciplined at same time.

I've asked him and another friend who crushes $50 & $100 HU hypers why they just don't keep punishing at the lower stakes instead of going up to $500 and 1ks) Both say the same "how will I get better and get rich?"

Obviously fearlessness comes with painfull lessons but they do keep getting back the horse and getting better.
  • Hey John,
I watched him crush the other day. I also watched him play Isildur. Was nice to see a Canadian tearing it up. Best of luck to him.
  • I wish I was good at online cash :( lol
  • In reference to the thread title, I would say this guy is currently running like BTP at the moment
