Thank you again to everyone who supported me both in and out of the bap. This was my second full live series ever played, with what I consider to be excellent results. I appreciate the chance to get more live tournament experience with such amazing support to push me along the way. I am also very glad that I have such a wealth of poker knowledge available to me and to that I credit the improvement of my game, now and in the future.
This time around there were many more familiar faces and I again met some wonderful people from all over. It was great to be able to see Wetts again, and to meet T8 and his girlfriend was a pleasant surprise as well. I look forward to playing more poker with all of them in the future as I hope to be travelling for tournaments a couple times a year.
I went into this series a lot more relaxed than the first one and I think that made a huge difference. I also had the forum with me in the form of a special pfc poker chip card marker (ty big bird), and having those voices in the back of my head kept me on my game and focused for 3 days of grinding that resulted in one cash/final table and 2 quite deep runs. I have already posted about the $800 event and that is the one that I cashed in, but the following two days were just as important to me.
While I will agree that I want the win and ofcourse a cash is always a good thing, sometimes it is not always about the money. For me, a new player, being able to stay focused after being at the tables for 10-14 hours a day for 3 days straight is an accomplishment in itself. Poker is more than just a game of cards and these tournaments are marathons that test ones mental and physical abilities.
On day 3, I was able to continuously be above avg chip stack by atleast 20k. I was happy with my play and with all of my decicions and while the result was to bust 23rd, I know had the cards ran my way in the last couple hands I would have been able to carry myself through to the final table again.
Day 4 my focus was still at a high level and I was able to grow my stack at a nice pace all day. There were many people who were there and they also played all 4 events, but you could see the tiredness and frustration in many of them by day 4. I found that these were the first ones to bust out because they just could not remain patient and logical about their play.
After busting out on day 4 in 28th spot to the same guy who ended up winning is just another stepping stone in my road to final tables. I know I still have so much to learn and I can't wait to continue doing so. Late game development is I think one of the things I need to work on for the next series, and I can't wait to start!
Both deep runs were ended by AA, and I can think of no classier way to exit a tournament than to the best hand. Next time it will be me who stays at the felt and cashes though.
I think that I will try to attend more weekly tournaments at the casino for experience and to try and win all my seats for the November series. I will keep track and let you guys know how it goes.
Now, onto the payment of the Poker Pixies' Roster:
Please let me know how you would prefer to be paid out either itt or via pm. If stars is preferred then there may be a wait as I will have to transfer some funds from the bank. I appologize but it will be taken care of in a timely manner.
I have also toyed with the idea of an online bap with carryover offered to bap'ers first, but I am unsure what to make it yet so any suggestions would be welcome. I do not work until Thursday so if there is interest in this I will have it ready and up before then.
Thank you again everyone for your support and encouragement! Look forward to playing for you again and glad to have my first large live tournament cash under my belt!
Great job Shar! I will be interested in some more baps, but just for the live games. Unfortanatley I don't have EMT, so I will have to wait until you deposit it on to pokerstars. My pokerstars name is: piggypie123 Thanks again for the Bap.
