Also strangely enough I am currently considering my first foray into scalping as I have some Masters practice round tickets that I have found are quite valued combined with a major purchase I want to make (see Muddguts chips).
The moral dilemma begins.
Be careful with Masters tickets. If you are caught scalping tickets for the Masters, you can be banned for life from attending ever again. Or the person, who originally owns the rights to those tickets you have.
my opinion on scalping in general is that it is not unethical. it's a simple supply and demand procedure. is it unethical for a company to try and corner the market on their products? is it unethical for a corporation to corner the manufacturing or distribution? according to our capitalist society it's not. it's just good business. that's all the scalpers are trying to achieve. there's a limited commodity and they were able to purchase most of the products. good for them. they can sell it for whatever they want. after all, the consumers don't have to buy it for the price they're selling unless they are desperate for this limited commodity.
furthermore, the original distributors of the product should be held accountable to who they sell to. if they want to prevent scalpers they could.
that being said, i'm actually anti-capitalism. i guess i'm just a big hippy at heart.
Yes Capitalism does stink. Just like I think the team with the laziest most inconsistent players should get a free ride to the podium. Keeping score is only for the winners. Hey it almost worked for Russia and look how well Cuba is doing.

quite a black and white view. anti-capitalism does not necessarily equal extreme socialism or fascism believe it or not. if you really want to get a good dialogue going start a thread. i'll explain my major issues with capitalism no problem.
One of the stupidest poker decisions I ever made was not selling a seat. I got a Regina Harvest Classic $550 seat for $500 off a friend that won 2 well ahead of time. On game day more than 370 turned out for a 300 cap field. We could have easily sold for $1000-$1100 as Regina is close to nothing a lots of out of Townes willing to pay.
I had never played a medium limit and this was like 20th place money. If I had not posted about the event and how excited I was to play, with friends following, would have done it. He respected my decision and obviously did not cash.
This should have been a snap call. You get $500 profit to go home, might be worth taking.

Imo, no. Unless of course you used that money to buy crack for school kids.
