Sometimes the poker gods are just on your side.
Was playing 1/2 in Edmonton for the first time in awhile last night (which is a much different 1/2 than anywhere else.)
me and villain are each about 300bb deep.
I'm in UTG+1, dealt QQ, raise to $7.
2 calls, BB raises to $30, I call, other 2 fold, heads up.
flop comes 279dd
he bets $50, which was apx 2/3 of the pot, I raise it up to $165, he shoves.
he's been super LAG all game, so I decide he's either on a nut flush draw, or has a hand like A9 with redraw to the flush, so I eventually call.
He shows 77, I feel pretty sick to my stomach when recollecting the hand in that moment.
Turn 9, river 9.
Man, a suckout has never felt so good.
