Wasn't there a DANE that won the WSOP a few of years ago, and is now a PokerStars Pro ? That may explain the surge of players from that part of the world.
I believe they are still playing from the USA, just registering somehow from the Netherlands.
I doubt it. The hoops you have to go through for a US player to get their account reinstated is not easy. Not worth it for micro players and the big players would not jeopardize their accounts.
Sounds logical, I was in Amsterdam back in November and my friend urged me to try the local casino. It was nearly empty. The only people who really play a lot are the dutch-asian immigrants. Native dutch are not really gamblers.
