rakeback pros

I have only been playing online poker for a little over a year (appx 16 months).
I've heard of rakeback, but never really utilized it. I've read what I can about it, but what I don't understand is how these companies can provide you the rake you play? How do they get the money in the first place?
Is it much more profitable to multitable and use rakeback or single table and keep a higher win ratio?

    you can only get rakeback if you haven't downloaded the poker software yet (well, the vast majority of the time at least. there has been exceptions to this however).

    definitely worth it to have it. why would you not want around 30% rakeback? doesn't matter if you multitable or not.

    Stars doesnt do rake back.
