Moose - Vegas

Waiting at Days Inn, Detroit for our flight at 7:15 am tomorrow.

Day 1
Stopped in Caesars Windsor to pick up my Platinum card. I got $15 in free bets for the pass line and placed $18 ea on 6 and 8 at the craps table. Won right away when the 6 hit, freerolling but ended up exactly even when the shooter sevened out. Losing $0 at the craps table in Windsor was a bit of a victory for me. mmoose had $10 in free bets, won her first hand at BJ, pressed it, hit BJ on the next hand and walked away up $25. I think we were there less than 15 min. On to Vegas!

Terribles for breakfast is the immediate plan.

    +2 :):)
  • Day 2
Checked in right away at Paris with my platinum card - srsly rocks to have this card. Room is definitely not as great as we expected. Oh well, convienently btwn PH and Ballys.

Ellis Island BBQ - as good as ever!

Finally got to Westin Casaurina to play craps. Had a 5 point roll but still lost $. Kept a couple nice chips though for Johnnie.

Played a lot at Ballys but dropped a buying when I c/r shoved QQ on some internet kid and he stacked off with AK no pr no draw but of course hit on the river. Oh well.

    Day 2
Started at Hash House a Go Go. Totally awesome. Again jumped a huge crowd of people sitting/standing waiting for a table with my platinum card and got seated right away.

Sat at IP 2/4 limit for a bit trying to hit cracked KK or AA. Got both and both held. Left up $29 and then ran into LaBeach Steve, the newlywed waiting for a tourney to start. Convinced him to go to O'Sheas while he waited and mmoose, he and I all sat together. Another +$8 for me and Steve left for IP when he got stacked.

    Battery dying. Gotta head.
  • Day 2 cont.

After Osheas, went back to Ballys but got ground down an entire stack. Rebought and recovered $100+. Went to Le Burger Brasserie for an awesome dinner. Players card, gets a discount on top as well. Well worth it.

Tomorrow mmoose is in the spa and hope to meet up with LaBeach for dinner at Mon Ami Gabi for Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Are my NFL bets in?

EDIT: Nevermind, I logged into CPF before Facebook. Thank you, sir!
  • Heard Hash House is great for breakfast...never been. Will be in Vegas in a week and a half but likely will just be room service and poker table food since I'm heading there without the gf.
  • Im planning a vegas trip for the new year Im pretty excited about it!!!

We should plan a trip sometime since we generally play at the same poker rooms and limits. Although I don't play 5/10 in Vegas.
  • Day 4
Yesterday we did some black friday shopping, went to Hash House again for late lunch. Had the chicken waffles. FYI bacon cooked right into the waffles FTW!

Started at Osheas. First day of a $200 AA cracked promo from 5-8. The place was packed and they even opened two tables in the back. No luck there but I did meet the scummiest angle shooter ever. One hand this old guy fires $20 on the river and the guy 'mistakenly' calls with $30. Dealer rules he has to complete the raise so he goes to $40. Old guy calls and scumbag shows quads. Tried again later against my wife when he 'accidentally' calls with 2 blue chips instead of 2 red chips to try and gauge her reaction.

After the promo ended we headed to Ballys just because for me, this is the place to be on a Friday night. I played 1-2 and finished up $200 and mmoose got on a 3-6 table. Her table was crazy with most of the table doing rounds of shots. mmoose ended doing shots of tequila and sambuca with these crazy asians. We didn't leave until 4 am for an 11 hour session.

Today we move to Caesars for the rest of the trip and we booked Ballys Steakhouse for dinner tonight.

Way to go mmoose, I always knew you were the party animal in your family!
  • Ran KK into AA for a big loss but made up for it when I got a SF to the K in hearts for a $250 jackpot. Ad on board too. So close to the RF which would have paid $3300.

Went to see Viva Elvis, which was actually pretty good, despite the reviews. Made our way to IP and FINALLY got in the 3-6 mixed game, which I crushed. Spent the profits on table side massages for the wife and I. The game broke at 2 am and we went to Bills for $6.99 graveyard steak and eggs. Finally back to the room at 3:30 am.

Today we drove in the mountains for our horseback ride which was awesome.

Also our room at Caesars rocks. We got upgraded to the Palace tower. 675 sq ft with a 2 person jacuzzi.

Still down on the trip so JohnnieH is making more money than me, just on his football bets.

Got a line on .25 craps at Jokers Wild so going to check that out after a soak in the jacuzzi to relax after the horseback riding.

    Two days left.

Just booked a couple rooms at Paris for Xmas eve at $47.50 per. Thought it was a great deal. Anything to be wary of?
  • The small coffee shop just outside the elevators has free internet. Bally's and Paris parking garage is the same so it doesn't matter which entrance/exit you use. There is no poker at Paris.

Leaving Las Vegas now. Down two buyins. Not bad but kind of frustrating. This guy was just dumping money last night at Ballys. Guy to my left was up $600, guy to my right was up $400, plus he showed me a picture of his last trip, where he hit the RF for $16000. mmoose and I got none of it.

Won at craps and found a new place to play - Joker's Wild in Henderson, $1 craps with 10x odds. Plus they have quarters, so you can place bets as low as $1.50 on 6/8 and get paid correctly. mmoose had a great roll there and we left up about $250.

Flopped AAAA for a $50 jackpot at Palms yesterday.

Human Nature at IP is a great show. Highly recommend.

    Played at:
    IP
    OSheas
    Flamingo
    Ballys
    Aria
    Palms
    Venetian

    Ate:
    Ellis Island BBQ
    Terribles breakfast
    Flamingo breakfast buffet
World Carnival buffet lunch and dinner
    Paris buffet dinner
    Mon Ami Gabi
    Le Burger Brasserie
    Ballys Steakhouse
    Hash House a Go Go - 2x

    Shows:
    Viva Elvis
    Jersey Boys
    Human Nature

    horseback riding

Saw lots of crazy stuff, like the cops taking pictures of the dominatrix flashing her pastie covered boobs on the strip. All good times.

Pretty dead during Christmas from what I've heard (but might be Vegas standards)

That's fine with me. Will be with wife and kids so explaining pastie covered Dominatrix boobs is not high on my wish list.

Spending 10 days in Phoenix and back to Vegas for a night at the Venetian before flying home.
  • Sorry for the delay on the pics.

Food. You can get anything you want in Vegas.

302 chips from Paris. Security at the airport was not impressed by the leady goodness.

Ah, so $1 Paris chips are "worth" >$1. Got it.
