Music thread
After posting in the headphones thread I thought it might be cool to start a music thread. I listen to music nonstop when Im playing and find myself on the lookout for new stuff all the time. I've recently started collecting vinyl, with an eye towards stuff that I enjoyed growing up.
When Im taking a break from poker concerts are a huge passion of mine. I flew home from the WSOP this summer to see The Hip, one of my favorite bands since childhood. When I flew back to Vegas I saw Rush and then went to the Electric Daisy Carnival on the same night haha
Since then I've been fortunate to catch the Foo Fighters in Toronto and Pearl Jam twice on their Canadian tour. Saw Wilco a couple of weeks ago in massey hall with my sis, and have tickets to see Mumford and Sons in a couple weeks. Really looking forward to that show since my gf loves them. Since seeing their amazing performace on the Bonaroo webcast, I've wanted to check em out:
Mumford & Sons Triumph At Bonnaroo | American Songwriter
What do you guys like to listen to when you grind, drive, run, bike, smoke, or drink ?

I am so envious or is that rather I am so cheap? I just can't bring myself to pay so high for these anymore.
So here's a cheap way for me:
Foo Fighters Cover Pink Floyd With Roger Waters | SPIN.com
plus I can't get this riff out of my head:
The Strokes - Under Cover Of Darkness - YouTube
and I could likely go see these guys for cheap to free:
N/A OK - USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) - YouTube

Foo at Massey Hall would have been legendary, its one of my favorite venues in the city!
Seeing a lot of chilled out quieter artists these next few weeks after a bunch of rock during the summer (Hip, Rush, Foo, Pearljam)
Umphreys McGee
Matt Good
Deadmau
Noel Gallagher
Lykke Li (hoping this show is babe central)
Dave Matthews
Jay Z/ Kayne West (if I can find tix < the ridic face value)
Feist
Bon Iver
The National
Ryan Adams
Pretty pumped up!
another great band I saw at a club like 10 years back, can't remember the club on Queen St. East (by the Real Jerk restaurant).
That's a lot of concerts! Large venues don't really appeal to me anymore. Remember seeing Foo Fighters at the Reading Festival in 1995 with Green Day, Hole, Sound Garden, Neil Young, etc.. Wish I would have caught the Blind Melon set but they came on really early.
From Google Maps it's looking like The Opera House, which fits with 10 years ago.
Thats the one. Was a warm up to their upcoming tour.

3 Days Grace when they started out, the name of there band was "Groundswell". They changed it just before they got famous. Its pretty crazy that all that talent came out of a small town of 1300.
A funny story was when I was in high school I heard that these guys were going to start a band. There first manager they ever had was one of there buddies. I remember he came up to me in the smoking area, and asked if I played any insterments because he was managing this new band. I told him I played the trumpet in music class, and he laughed and went on tio the next guy. LOL
