I just don't get it, I was a winning player on Full Tilt, and over my entire online career I am almost break even, and that includes the beginning, when I was awful.

Since getting back onto PokerStars, I can't win anything. the beats are terrible and while they may be "statistically normal", in a MTT, all it takes is one bad beat and you are done. There doesn't seem to be a long run for MTT.

I don't know how you guys get so deep, so often. Every tournament is a mine field and I step on one every time.
  • Now you're just being a little bitch. Suck it up, Devon. You are a decent player, as evidenced by the fact that other players, who may be classified as "better" than you, were willing to pony up the cash to share in the profits of your return to on-line poker. Stop bitching about the fact that variance is currently kicking your ass, and pull the chin-strap a little tighter. Variance eventually balances out and, if you are currently in a trough, you must inevitably begin to swing upwards until you are once again riding the crest of success.
  • Tony Robbins has nothing on you Milo. ;)
  • Just call me Mickey . . .

and at least he signed up for the Forum tourney tonight. EZ $$$ . . .
  • If you think you're running bad, just look at Hobbes "getting my ass kicked by the FTP random number generator" still.;)
  • Devon, it's Jokerstars, not Pokerstars. The quicker you learn that the better off you will be.
  • I get where OP is coming from but saying "I knew the gutshot was coming" isn't healthy. I'm still in awe of some of the deep runs I make but I mostly play 100-300 player tournaments, playing larger fields than that takes balls of steel and confidence imo
  • Oh Milo, You are so great !! I go on these rants every so often, usually take a small break and come back and go on a heater. :)
  • I've found online poker to be a vicious game on a persons mental state. I've got a screenshot folder dedicated to the retarded stuff I see when playing big field tournaments. As Milo said, it's just the shitty side of variance, and we've all seen it.

All you can really do, besides vent in this awesome idea of a forum, is remember that you played the hand properly and got the chips in good. As for knowing the King was coming, I've stopped looking at the hands when I'm all in. I'll either move another table over it, open up Firefox or just turn away from my laptop. The hand history will be there afterwards for me to look at, and see what kind of idiots I'm playing with.
  • I am going to try doing this on my cash tables (/\/\/\).

I put my hands over my face; wait a few seconds, then open my fingers a crack and take a peek.
  • So you guys pray at the temple of Hachem. ;)
