  • I would fold this vs an unknown. Doubt a random shoves wide enough to make it worth it , plus 5 people can wakeup with calling hands behind
  • ill bet this is +ev by a long shot...vs an unknown and especially vs a decent opp....but its just my guess

By a longshot? What range do you give a random , unrecognizable screenname in this spot?

pairs suited broadway and all decent aces at a minimum....

but by a long shot im mean that we could prob call with kts 22 and qjs ev wise....

    that feels much too wide

    shove range or calling range?
  • My call chart says fold here unless he has 6bbs or less(which is still pretty much even in the long run)...this is assigning the shover a med range.. 22+,A2s+,KQs, JTs,T9s,98s, 87s, AQo+...
If I was last to act...I would probably still call though...

where do the numbers come from tho?
  • someone can show me if im not doing it right

    HoldemResources.net: Beta ICM Nash Calculator

k playing too much to write this right nash will say its not +ev but if you change villain range to dennis's then its a clear +ev call i think....but that doesn't mean you have to call.

but i also think that villain is shoving quite a bit wider....ato ajo kjs stuff like that.....and since the rest of the field will over call tighter then its more plus ev than nash....

thats how i know it....but im just making it up from stuff i can find..

    numbers? what numbers? :P

I had found a calculator online and used that...forget which one it was off the top of my head...but I did send it to you in a message on crackbook I think.

That range that I posted above...was off the top of my head as well...and not the exact range used in my calculation..would have to dig up my chart building notes...and well, if you could see my desk right now...

    haha i don't know...
  • From what you put in we should call 6% and KQs should be the bottom of our range given that villain is shoving 13% (77+ A8s+ k9s+ QJs+ JTs+ A10o+ KJo+) which seems reasonable except for the fact that holdemmanager has a tendency to cut off many small pairs that people shove

but have we added since no one calls with kqs villain is going to be shoving wider...
  • that's an assumption. some do, some don't
  • Seems like a close fold given our lame positions. KQs is sweet though, so I'd usually rip it cuz it's like my favourite hand to punt with. The biggest consideration is the people left to act. I think we're ahead of his range, but we have to be far enough ahead to compensate for the times one of the 5 people overcall (which will be frequently given their stacks), since nearly every time they overcall they're owning us and our equity goes way down. Darb's initial calling range of any pair and QJs is pretty spewy. 22 will be super close even in the BB, let alone the lojack. These are some of the toughest common shortstack spots though, so no worries.

Is this a normal 109 turbo though? Stacks look super shallow and the table looks kinda stacked.

i was basing it on the answers here....but 22 and suited broadway were too much ....playing with nash came up with 8 at the most....
  • Yeah pretty sure it was a normal one, Think it starts around 2pm est. I folded but thought it was really close, wanted to see if this was maybe a leak and I should be a calling. What pairs do we call with here.

im curious to what you shove as villain and vekked....

or is that fight club stuff?
  • If you're thinking about getting it in with this, you're probably (like most people) overvaluing KQ/KQs as a calling hand in turbos. It's a fold and it's not really close.

    I'd probably go 88+/AQ/AJs maybe.
  • And I could be talked into 77/AJ under the right table circumstances
