  • My comments throughout. When I do this, by the way, I don't peak ahead. I try and live in the moment of the hand.

Close to the money, but looking to build some serious chips for a run at the top three.

I have lots of chips relative to the blinds. I do not need to push. I might choose to, but I do not need to.

I am in early position with a troublesome hand.

I am worried about the limper. What hand could he limp with from early position. I like the raise to define your hand. Get re-raised and fold. Otherwise, tread carefully.

Two flat callers??? Alarm alarm alarm. I am in a big multiway pot with a marginal hand and two people who have position on me.

That's a bad flop. I have top pair, but there are ALL KINDS of draws out there. Also, there is the very real possibility that I am already beat. It looks to me like I will have to showdown the best hand to win. I would be tempted ot check and see which way the wind blows, but I don't have the 1,000 bet.

Can't argue with your play here. All of the signs indicate that I have the best hand. Again, I don't think that checking is the end of the world. Will he call with his flush draw? If yes, you could choose to lower your variance and check, but can't argue with getting it in as a big favourite.

Oops. Dang. I was drawing dead from the flop.
I put him on an ace high flush draw, but im guessing thats exactly what he put me on...
I don't think he cares what you've got. And, he is happy because you keep bettting.

Tough one. If he plays the hand delicately, I go broke. And, with a straight flush on the flop he can be pretty delicate. So, even if I check on the flop he checks. Then what happens if you bet the turn and get called? It will be a tough fold on the river.

Often I ask myself: "Is one of us a big dog?" In this hand, with this flop, then you could be a huge dog or a very small favourite (a club draw with one over). It's possible you are a big favourite, but given the number of callers you have I think it's one of these two. Go slow... try and win a small pot or at least survive with what you can.
