Live - $1,500 Brantford Deep Stack Tournaments
He's baacckk - live!
After making several final tables and winning the Points Championship in Casino Brantford's $450,000 Ultimate Poker Challenge back in 2007, I was looking forward to playing the next $2K and $1K buy-ins, but unfortunately there would be no high buy-in tournament at Brantford for the next four years. Until next month when there will be a $1K tournament. I plan to play in both Brantford Deep Stack tournaments:
- $500, September 15, up to 80 players or $36,000 prize pool
- $1,000, September 18, up to 80 players or $72,000 prize pool.
I am willing to offer BAP at 1.25 , e.g., $187.50 for every 10% or $93.75 for every 5%. I will be responsible for tips; when I cashed at a tournament there this month, I gave 5% of my net winnings. Using an example of my actual win from Brantford of $22K (also approximately 1st place in $1K event), an investment of $187.50 can return up to $2,200.
Below are some of my tournament results from Brantford:
- 4th place in grand final of $2,100 events
- won Points Championship (i.e., player of the series) in $450,000 Ultimate Poker Challenge
- chopped with PokerStars Online Pro Anh Van Nguyen in $1,065 event (top 2 out of 100 players)
- 7th place in $1,065 Brantford Spring Classic event (100 players)
- cashed in $300 and $200 events.
I am just gauging interest for now, but later I will be accepting payment in Canadian dollars through EMT, Paypal, cheque, etc.
PIRANHA - 10% (paid)
SteveKerr - 10% (paid)
Hobbes - 5% (paid)
T8urmoney - 5% (paid)
asxn557 - 5% (paid)
pokerJAH - 5% (paid)
westside8 - 5% (paid)
Animaux - 5% (paid)
50% maximum met.

Trip Report:
When I arrived at the Brantford poker room, I gave my confirmation # and asked for a receipt. I heard there were ~25 seats left a couple of days before, but it did sell out at 80 players. I noticed a couple of forumers playing.
In the first level of 25/50, I increased my stack by 50% to 22K. After the second break, there were only 34 players left at level 9 with 800/1600 + 200 ante. I had an average stack of 35K.
Villain wanted to raise with a single 5K chip but did not say anything so it was ruled just a call. In the very next hand, villain again put a 5K chip to raise (MP). I woke up with 10-10 in the small blind and 3-bet all-in for ~33K. Villain called with only KJ. Flop was safe and I was a 76% favourite to win, but he hit the K on the turn and I was out.
I'm playing live poker for four days this week, so I look forward to Sunday.
P.S. To pokerJAH, I very rarely used my cell phone so I eventually cancelled it. I have an iPod Touch but Brantford does not have WiFi.
Nice to see someone who can survive without a cellphone!
