Just watch the vig (3-6%) but so long as you can still call in.
  • Yes, I am aware that the July 13th tournament is not on the list. When we set things up we figured it was to close to the start date to make a difference.
  • Sorry guys all credit card purchases are going to be done online, with the exception of walk ins. Calling in and giving someone your card number over the phone and all your info is not as secure as doing it through poker tickets.com or in person.
  • What happened to the $825 Deepstack on September 14th.

I don't see it listed on your schedule anymore?

So the player pays an extra 3-6% on top of the buyin+fee if using this thing?

    Yup

  • I am writing this to inform you of a change that we are made to our online tournament registration service. As you have notice there is a surcharge added to your purchase price of the seats. The surcharge is what Pokertickets.com charges for the use of their website.

We at the Great Blue Heron Casino have reviewed this surcharge and feel that it does not meet the requirements that the Great Blue Heron wishes to represent to our customers. At this point in time we do not wish to stop using this service, but looked to find a way to improve it by means of our own.

What we have chosen to do is split this cost of the surcharge with our customers. How we are going to do this is by reducing the amount of our administration fees for players who purchase seats online. A seat that would normally be $300 + $30 administration fee with a surcharge of 13.20 for a total of $343.20 will now cost, $300 + $24 administration fee with a surcharge of $12.96 for a total of 336.96.

If you still wish not to use the online service you may purchase seats in the casino at the Rapid Rewards Players Club using a cash or credit card. The seat will cost $300 + $30 administration fee. Phone-ins using credit cards will not be accepted.

I have done my best to make it more affordable online.
  • At GBH last week and noticed that they will be having two tournaments a day during August. I think you start out with 7000 in chips...cant remember what the buyin is though.

    Deep Stack Turbo Tournaments

Will have 15 minute blind levels. Max 30 Players with the top four places being paid regardless of starting field. The prize pool will be broke down as follows: First 40%, Second 28%, Third 20% and Fourth 12%.
Registration opens for the Deep stack Turbo Tournaments at 8:30am each day (during the month of August). Registration will close 20 minutes before the event starts. Players arriving to their seats late will be assigned to seats with dead stack. Seats will be randomly assigned. Requests for a particular table and/or seat will not be honored (Exceptions may be made for guests with special needs).
Seats will only be sold on the day of the tournament. Credit card payments and phone in reservations will not be accepted.
  • Hey Guys

Registration opens for both events at 8:30am. The buy-in for the 1:00pm is $60 with a starting stack of 6000 and the 7:00pm buy-in is $80 with a starting stack of 8000. Both events will hold a maximum of 30 players and blinds are 15 minutes. Seats are only sold on the day of the tournament. These tournaments will take place on each Monday and Tuesday during the month of August.

Thanks Dead Money I forgot to post the details on this one. I was too excited about getting the registration online.

Do we know the status of this?

Thanks again GBH for trying to fill the void that Ontario poker has when it comes to tournaments that have a somewhat decent structure.
  • Hello Blackmagicz and Steve

Due to circumstances beyond my control this tournament had to be taken off the books. Please pay close attention to the forum. If things change I will let everyone know right away.
  • Are the assigned seats given for ordering tickets online to the tournaments random or in order? As in the first 10 tickets ordered will be on the same table, then the next 10 on the same table, etc.. Couldnt find it on the FAQ on the site.

Pretty sure you don't get your assigned table and seat until you show up at the casino the day of the tournament, and it is random there.

The number you are assigned from your online registration has nothing to do with table or seat
  • Just thought id post back here to let everyone know that the table and seat number you get online is random and not in order, and it is the seat you get at the casino for the tournament.
  • what Steve said!

No, the table and seat number assigned online when ordering the ticket is the table and seat number you get at the tournament.
