$3r stars light 3b spot with A7o or avoid?

I had been pretty active and 3betting other active players, mainly IP, a few times with success.
TBH villain had just been moved to the table so I didn't have a read on him except that he's from Spain (so he's at least spewy): so I guess I should just be folding this specific hand when I'm gonna get flatted so often when OOP right?

Also, I think my 3b sizing is okay but specifically in low buyin tournies like the stars 3r should I be making it bigger to reduce the amount of times I'm getting flatted?

I posted this hand bc I feel like I've become too passive in the late stages (maybe its time to review some mtt vids), and I'm trying to be more active and put pressure on ppl while I have a good stack to do it with. But on the other hand the players in these low buyin mtts are usually so bad so you can just play completely straightforward and do pretty good, instead of getting in spots against players that are incapable of folding when you're light, attempting a bluff, etc.

Comments

  • i think theres times when you could do this with almost any decent cards but without having any history your going to want something in your hand mostly for post flop play so i think you want good semibluff hands like suited connector ish types. id rather have a4s here.

and i think villain is very likely to flat here and float alot

the biggest problem with a7o is what to do when an ace comes
  • fwiw i like the flop size and turn bet/call. Pre I probz fold this hand and lean towards like J10ss etc for this stuff.
