Final table wear
Is there some sort of agreement people have to sign when entering any of the wsop events that says you have to be decorated out in online poker site gear to the degree where its both disturbing and laughable?
I get that some of the participants would sell the advertising gladly, but what if you paid your own way and didnt want to?

Darvin Moon didn't take on a sponsor and wore his NewOrleans Sainsts cap during the entire final table.
Prop bets would not be made if it involved not wearing your sponsored gear.

DJ- thats right, i forgot about that guy wearing his saints hat.
Curiosity satisfied.
HOWEVER for purposes of entertainment (or lack thereof) what would ppl here choose to do? Opt for the gear?
even a Vancouver Canucks jersey?
But it's a good friends letter, (sick player, he made day 5 his first try and could have easly blinded into big money but was playing ftw)
he sent it to me and it answered a lot of things I wondered.
This was his second shot and he did opt to wear swag because of NAPT incentives. He didn't cash second time but did manage to sell a bunch of action based on his first performance.
We actually had a ton of talks about how he should handle some of this. He chose to use his Vegas comps and pocket a bit of extra coin, though he was really on the fence about staying at the RIO, wanted it, but they burn a bit of what you get up if you do. He played Venetian events with savings.
Recently met a super nova elite "rake back" pro whos brain I want to pick, they get a ton of comps too, but I don't fully understand how they play so many tables profitably and come out ahead, imagine it is a nitty style, but he has done well in several live events that he rarely plays, including Madrid recently. He gave as bags of really sweet Stars gear that he "had to" wear though, we have been giving as prizes at the bar league and giving him props in return, some people would give their left nut to get all "pro'ed up"
The problem I guess and from what I have heard with this type of agreement is that a ton of people jump on this offer, where as the deeper you go unpatched, the better the offers get if they think you going the distance. But if you took the first "deal or no deal", your already hooked
Dear jontm,
Congratulations!
After successfully scooping two pots, then sitting out for the remainder of the 34,000 player free roll that took 1 hour and 32 minutes to complete, you were awarded a ticket into the target tournament.
In that tournament, you played for 7 hours and 58 minutes, only to have to go into your time bank repeatedly while we were playing hand for hand after you snapped called the next largest stacks all in holding AA. His 7 3 open shove from the button flopped a boat, but some how you were able to cling to your remaining three big blinds to advance to the final target tournament.
You are now one of the lucky 100,000 finalists who will compete for 2 packages to the WSOP Main Event, provided you can send us a video of you rubbing your tummy and patting your head while licking your nose. The tournament is scheduled to played on the day of your daughters wedding, or alternatively start at 9:00pm on a Sunday night and run for 17 hours, with only the two spots paying. Good Luck!
PS. As we have used your player blog in our mass e-mail, we are sending you one of last year’s t-shirts. We only have size small left, in institutional green. Congrats again!
Wanna see the money first...
lmfao..nice Jon, nice.
Here
That's American! FAIL!!
Seriously, if someone gave me that buyin, I would wear the hated Canucklehead Jersey...it'll be inside out, but I'll wear it
