villain having 10BB much different than villain having 35BB.
  • ?? its a ship because he has 10BB, if its between 0 and 16 BB i think its a ship.

    Nobody is paying attention.

Do you mean if the stack sizes were reversed so you have 8300 and he has 27k or whatever? Still a shove as long as effective stacks are the same (~10bb).

In the second hand, pretty much agree with everyone else. Rarely 3-betting and, if I do, I'm making it a much smaller amount than 240. Probably to like 95. You have position. No real need to bloat the pot that big preflop.

try the opposite...play tight let him think he can steal easy then when the blinds get high you can 3bet him knowing his range is huge because he thought you would fold again.

Now you pick up an amount of blinds (and antes too) at the higher level that is worth more than all the other times you folded before put together. Plus you have position in a 3bet pot if he flats

hes not gonna rejam this time because you already folded six times to steals.

anyways sometimes we fell awkward with mid pocket pairs and i think its just a setmine here . call pre, check fold flop, or hit set.

    this! X infinity
  • In Hand #1 I like raising because it looks more bluffy. Something like 1775 to enduce a shove. It can get him to shove Kx or Qx suited because we make it seem like we are going to be folding a lot here with our small bet.

We don't really want to induce a wider range of hands to get it in with his stack vs. our hand. If we induce him to shove Q6s, K7o, 97s type hands he's actually probably correct in doing that. Too many hands have 40%+ equity vs. us that we want to fold when we're holding a high card/low card type hand. Just because K9o or Q8s is a worse hand than A5s doesn't necessarily mean we want him to get it in with it, especially when he's getting odds to do so.

Even so, you can't just say "I want to establish an image of defending my blinds" then 3-bet blind. 3-betting hands that are ahead of someone's range for opening but behind their range for continuing vs. your 3-bet is a fundamental 3-betting mistake; you're turning a value hand into a bluff.
