carefull what you wish for....

So my story starts on a Friday night a few years ago. I arrived at Windsor Casino - my regular haunt when I lived in the area - and sat down at a $1/2 table. After a few hours I turned $200 into $400 and went home. The next day I had a buddy visit and we returned to the casino with my won $200. My friend was braver than I and sat at a $2/5 table while I returned to my $1/2 table. This was about 8pm. By mid night I was up to about $700 and by friend up to $1200 on his table. I moved my stack to his table as the average stack was about $800 so I wasn't disadvantaged too badly.

After 6 more hours I was up to about $2600. There had been a core of about 4 or 5 guys who had stayed at the table while the other seats were filled and emptied while we took turns cleaning folks out! We had decided that we would close the table and all go to breakfast after a couple more hands. Note that it typically took $30 to see a flop. So I was dealt a pair of jacks and paid my $30 to see the flop and everyone else did too - $270 in the pot. The flop was J-6-6. I thought my heart would jump out of my chest. I pushed a pot sized bet - $300 and got one caller. So now I am scared he may have pair of sixes and has hit quads. So now there is $870 in the pot and the dealer turns another 6! I knew he didn't have a pair of sixes!!! I checked hoping to trap him and it worked he raised 2 times the pot and I pushed my $2270 all in!! He calls and now there is $5410 in the pot!!!!!! So as I turned over my cards I declared "I hope you have kings!!" His face dropped as he noticed his 6's full of kings was up against my jacks full!!! One of the other players states he folded king rag so there was only one king in the deck.

Guess what he rivered!!!!!!!

My buddy bought me breakfast....

  • Lol I love how on the flop you were afraid he might have two 6s but when the third one came off you throw out the possibility that he has one 6 in his hand lol.
  • This guy had played mostly high pairs all night....with a boat in hand only quads was beating me - he was the type who didn't smooth call - he would typically raise when he had the nuts...usually a min raise to bump up the pot.

Hind sight says your completely right ..lol....
  • Theres like no way im folding, but on the flop you said you were worried about him having 66 but when a 6 comes on the turn you become not worried at all lol just thought it was strange, sick beat though for sure
